Zach Lowe says both teams lost in his podcast.

Attack the idea, not the poster. No name calling.

Sure, my apologies.

RE Coxy: The idea is farce considering just 4 days ago you had an opposite opinion and it only changed since Wiggins was traded to your team. It is my fault for engaging with you on this when I knew the result and knew you had changed opinions for the sole reason of Wiggins joining the Globetrotters.

Nah it's all good I get that.

I think we can all look back now and laugh at what everyones takes were on Russells market value. If this truly was the extent of Dlo's market value, then I believe this to be an inflated return due KAT pining for his little buddy to join him (the threat of KAT leaving town if not). The reality is, that Dlo's trade value was in line with what he is as a player, pretty basic.

Wiggins is limited, but he's also young and has been stuck in Minnesota for his career, so I think our FO is banking on the change in scenery and dculture to unlock his best. He has been Maggette-like in Minny, however I'll back our front office on this one.

Watch Kerr, Green and Splash Bros get Wiggins to be what he could have been and he’s an all-star next year.

overrated narrative, just like the one that Spurs always pick and find gems in the draft....Wiggins needs to dominate the ball to put up those stats, how's he gona do that with that lineup and his weak 3pt shooting?

I agree, it’s way more likely he looks good every now and then, but mostly bad... What do you think Wiggins, 1st Overall and 2021 T’Wolves 1st gets GSW on draft night?

Depends whose available. ...I assume gsw will have specific needs and not just trading for a star....I mean if someone like ad was available I could see gsw offering that but Wiggins inclusion will severely decrease that pkg value unless gsw just let's Wiggins lose this yr and he balls out

I don't get it for GS too much

Getting rid of Wiggins should cost around that 1st, bit less maybe. I guess that 2nd equals Spellman

So they gave up D'lo and Evans for a good 1st and taking on that negative Wiggins deal?

Why not just get RoCo, Dieng, and a couple 2nds maybe?

And what is Minny thinking trading RoCo for a 1st and Beasley?

They could have greatly used him rn and would have been perfect 3 and d next to Dlo and KAT?

Over 9 months, a couple trades and transactions turned

KD
Iggy
'20 1st (20/f2nd)
'24 1st (4/1/U)

2

Wiggins
'21 1st

Edit...and yet they still have a great team and future. And likely two high picks the next 2 years.

What I haven’t read here yet is the risk Warriors are taking with Wiggins.

Everyone seems to think he will improve in GS. What if he doesn’t? Whet if he regresses?

Do Warriors run a major risk he could be negative contract and maybe if Wolves are good that their 2021 won’t even offset his negative value?

Scenario being they lose the opportunity to attach their own 2020 top 3 to a contract for a win now player.

thanks negative nancy...

The wolves have two excellent wing defenders in okogie & culver plus JJ’s good on d too. nice yin yang to balance things out. Lots of depth now too.

Turns out Covington had more trade value than Russell.

I honestly don't think I'm being a negative nancy with that take. Russell is the worst starting defensive PG in the league, that Im certain of because I'm a defense 1st advocate and I've had times of walking away from the TV watching D'Angelo get torched repeatedly. His laterall quickness, and quickness overall actually is awful. He gets beaten every time on D with either speed or bulk and then just gives up. Towns, well his defensive deficiancies are well documented, however he's at least a supreme sized athlete, but you're going to realise how bad Dlo is on defense shortly which constantly puts the entire team on the back foot every posession.

Anyway, I'm glad Dlo has been moved from the Warriors and we didn't even attempt the experiment going into next year when all of our guys are back.

That's an interesting train of thought. I'd love to know how the actual talks went between GS and Minny over the past 6 months, would be an interesting report to read.

shrink, you happy with Dlo?

No. Like I said, Wiggins had to go out if Russell was coming in, but I think MIN’s need for Covington’s team defense tripled.

The whole team has hardly any positive defenders now. At least there out to be spacing in the 5-out, so Rosas can use these last 30 games for player evaluation in a vague reproduction of their eventual system.

I will hope for the best, and I’m sure the offense will draw fans

three words:

Pick. And. Roll.

We’ve been waiting for this for almost 5 years.

Kat has never had a good pnr partner. He’s had pg’s who are terrible shooters (Rubio, Jones) or guys who dont like shooting 3s (teague). Despite that he’s been an absurdly efficient scoring big man. DLo is Kahn’s manna from heaven. Kat could drop 30ppg a night next season

OK cool fair enough. It's my personal opinion that Dlo is the biggest fools gold since Mike James's amazing contract season and the Wolves have just signed up for serious hurt over the next few years. That pick and roll will produce some good stuff on offense but will be outdone on the defensive end because Dlo is the worst defender in the entire league.

If KAT wasn't friends with Dlo, and wasn't pressing his org to trade for him, the Warriors would be up poop creek without a paddle. He is not a winning basketball player. He's slow, unathletic, weak, and outside of 3 point bursts has nothing that will contribute to teams. I was fooled into thinking he was going to be an asset for the Warriors, but after 10 games of watching him play I conceded, he's just not that good. That 3 point binging has fooled evryone.
