Clippers aint earned that.
I'm panicking.

This team is mentally weak.

I didn't see weakness. I saw no Mann and no Zu on the floor for starters. Reggie jacking up bullsh*t. Morris was trash. Outside of the poster dunk nothing from Kawhi in the 2nd half. I'm not trippin' tho. I'm prepared for a deep playoff run or a flameout.

My takes: Ibaka should start over Zu, Zu did okay but Luka was eating him alive.
Start Rondo get the offense in rhythm. You can put in Pat Bev after.
Reggie needs a short leash if he is not making shots.
PG and Morris need to wake up. PG showed a little sign of life in the second half but we need that the whole game.

Idk maybe this will be a blessing in disguise and wake this team up. Time for some whiskey.

Btw,

We have to go into Dallas and win one where they're gonna have maximum capacity crowd. They have a home court advantage. We do not.

Just lol.

Would anyone be surprised if we get swept? Serious question. This team is so mentally weak, I don't see how they bounce back from this.

Were we watching the same game? Our so-called "elite" free throw and three point shooting team choked at both. This team is not built for the playoffs.

Luke has done X many of whatever stat in Y many playoff games.

He's only played Kawhi's Clippers in the playoffs.
-_-

Truly annoying my team cannot shut this guy up.

DFS making 4 of 5 from 3 was also a killer because he's not a good shooter

terrible coaching, no chemistry, no penetration, no discipline. Jackson terrible, Morris terrible. Paul George, not an elite player. Kawhi was pretty good, Rondo was good. Kawhi needs to be the best player on both sides of the court and he is neither.

I'm surprised Clippers can't just put Kawhi on Luka and let him guard him one on one. Double teams of Luka will kill the Clippers.

KL, PG and Morris shot 3-20 from 3 so maybe a fluke game.

What a way to spoil the start of my weekend.

Looking at the box score, you'd think the Clips were playing Curry Klay Durant Warriors with how good they were shooting

Last year we won the series when we stopped doubling Luka and forced him to go to the rim against Zubac.

Another thing we need to come out strong at the BEGINNING of the 1st quarter, tired of seeing us playing catch up. Rant done onto game 2! Wake up Clips and let's go

This is why the arrogance on this board by 3 or so posters was totally unfounded. Awful game. More thoughts to come:

First of all, Paul George had a decent 4th quarter (including an awful low IQ 3pt shot with 2 minutes to go and w 8 minutes to go a terrible given up defensively), but if we are to win he's going to have to play much better. 3 airballs to start the game, 1-7 in the 1st half. The shot IQ was awful as usual. Having said that, I was very happy with his playmaking IQ this game especially in the 1st half. LEAGUES better than usual. Not one perimeter shot for him made till the 3rd quarter (correct me if I'm wrong)??? Only THREE fields by the mid 3rd? Come on.

Kawhi once again had a remarkable game that was overshadowed bc of the loss. Having to rely on him to dig ourselves out of holes PG made IN THE FIRST QUARTER is not a recipe for success and will only result in him gassing for games ongoing.

Ibaka looked fantastic. Needs more minutes NOW whether he's ready or not.

At this point in a must win game 2, I'd probably swap either Ibaka or Batum for Morris. With how the offense is playing, Morris played really bad (unusually). I would possibly give him another chance next game, but by the 3rd changes need to be made.

On the other hand,

Our biggest mistake this game was REGGIE JACKSON. Getting constantly destroyed defensively with absolutely no offensive to show for it. PUT IN TERRENCE MANN. REGGIE JACKSON IS AN ABSOLUTE JOKE. TY LUE LOST US THIS GAME PLAYING REGGIE.

Zu played really great as well. I'm worried it won't be consistent for him throughout and we will definitely not even be IN games without his help.

On the Mavs side, Kleber looks like a fantastic rebounder and Brunson had an incredible game obviously bc of his skill but also bc of him constantly on Reggie Jackson.

We had role players like Bev, Zu, Batum, Rondo all playing terrific - Kawhi had an absolute monster game and PG got it going in the 4th and we still lost by 10. This Mavs team is firing on all cylinders and we look totally disjointed and unsure of our team identity.

Great decision deciding "rest" and avoiding the Lakers was more important than figuring out the team's continuity

We got totally outplayed today and I give the Mavs all the credit in the world. They look like the better team, despite the talent differential we have in our favor.

PG definitely had a mediocre first half but Kawhi didn't give us much at all in the second half outside that poster dunk. He finished up the game badly. Not pitting players as he played well overall but he was far from having a "monster game". This was about Mann not getting minutes and nothing from Morris and Reggie

Just like last year the same old thing. Kawhi is forced to CARRY THE TEAM ON HIS BACK IN THE FIRST AND SECOND AND THIRD QUARTERS because CERTAIN PLAYERS are not doing **** for us and we're down 10.

Iso post up score
Iso post up score
Iso drive kick it for a 3
Iso get fouled

And that's all the gameplan is. Paul George did not have a "mediocre" first half, he had an AWFUL DISASTROUS first half. You cannot start the game with THREE AIRBALLS going 1-7 in the 1st half!!! Inexcusable!! Without Kawhi we would have lost this game by 20, and had PG even played up to "Average" in the 1st half we'd have been easily up by 10 and not in the situation at the end.

Morris didn't do anything (unusual) and Reggie didn't do anything (as usual) - Put in T MANN!

That first half was not "mediocre," it was an unmitigated disaster. If he had actually been mediocre in the first half, we would have won this game by double digits.
