I notice Demar DeRozan hasn't signed anywhere yet. Recall that he and Dame are buddies

How about a double sign-and-trade getting us DeRozan?

Add DJJ at 9.7 million, Simons at 3.9 million to Collins' 7 million and that is 20.2 million. That is certainly in the ball-park for DeRozan's value.

Adding DeRozan makes losing CJ much easier from both a friendship and on-court POV. It is the kind of move that should keep Dame happy.

Still doesn't solve the problem of playing guys out of position. Not to mention there is absolutely no way SA does that.

I’d be happy if we could sign Drummond and then move some combo of Nurkic, Jones Jr, Simons, Little, Protected 1st for a player that makes more sense for our team like Wood, Nance, Boucher etc

DeRozan was the Spurs starting SF last season. He isn't ideal at SF but assuming CJ gets dealt for a forward or big there should be plenty of minutes at SG and SF for both Powell and DeRozan.

San Antonio hasn't resigned DeRozan or Gay. They did bring in Collins and McDermott. The DeRozan s+t to Miami isn't going to happen. There are rumours of a dual s+t with Chicago for Markannan. In any case the Spurs have clearly moved on from DeRozan. They've already committed to Collins. Why not take a look at young athletes like Simons and DJJ who can generate fan interest from having the last two slam dunk contest winners.

In fact that's a really great idea but it's a bit difficult to imagine Olshey flipping his "young projects" for an aged player like DeMarre.

If CJ gets traded, then I agree with you. I'll believe that when I see it tho.

Dame-Norm-DeMar-RoCo-Nurk plus CJ as a 6th man is a pretty impressive gang.
And Portland can easily assemble the CJ+RoCo package for Simmons if the opportunity comes.

I'd like to see that definitely.

"Look, we identified areas of need based on roster deficiencies, while maximizing contract flow for optimal deals within our current asset pool. At the end of the day we acquired 2 former high lottery picks to improve our talent base with the tools we had. I'm in contact with Dame everyday, and he's more than happy to have 6 LARGE 6'3 guards on the roster. You're going to have to trust me."

Whoever signs Dante Exum is going to get a borderline starter or better.

At this rate Simmons value is not worth even that of CJ.. dudes getting exposed for reality quick, that lebron co-sign feels like a century ago, plus let’s remember CJ was looking like a sure fire all star last yr until he got knocked out for a couple months. But, fully agreed with Demar. I think he’s a great fit and I’m a strong advocate to swing for getting him here. That’s a title level squad

If Covington is playing as a stretch PF that still leave 32mpg for each of CJ, Derozan, and Powell between SG & SF.

What’s the problem there?

Too tall and durable. Now a Jones back to the Heat for Oladipo S&T, who will miss the entire season and never suit up for the Blazers, is something I could see Olshey pulling off.

If people dont see DDR as a huge improvement at SF, then IDK who the hell they expect to walk through that tunnel once the season starts.

Collins, DJJ, Simons for DDR in a S&T is potentially the best way to up our talent level at this point. Move CJ to 'super 6th man' for a year and see how that works. We need to get creative at this point, as Simmons and Pascal level guys are almost certainly unavaliable given our assets. (And honestly, I think I would rather do a DDR S&T and even add a potential highly protected FRP than move CJ and 3-4 FRP's for Pascal or Ben. Keep the picks around in case Dame demands a trade even w/ the roster upgrade)

G - Damian Lillard (34) / CJ McCollum (14) / Avery Bradely (VM)
G - Norman Powell (32) / CJ McCollum (16) / Ben Mcelmore
F - Demar DeRozan (30) / Nassir Little (18) / CJ Elleby
F - Robert Covington (30) / Carmelo Anthony (18) / Greg Brown
C - Jusuf Nurkic (24) / Cody Zeller (12) / Enes Kanter (12)

Thats the best team we have had since the Dame/Batum/LMA/Wes years IMO. Also, for those saying DDR isnt a SF, wrong. He is closer to a SF/PF than a SG/SF at this point. And his defensive metrics are much better against F than G.

You should never miss an opportunity to flip a fairly sized forward that RoCo is when you can replace him with a bunch of undersized guys like DJJ or Little.

I tend to think the rest of the off season will about waiting out the sixers to get Simmons.

Kendrick Nunn now available as Miami pulled QO, would be a very nice backup PG

Do we still have the taxpayer MLE?

Melo signed with the Lakers, not sure if that's a collective sigh of relief but a forward or big with some range in a similar role would be nice.
