Kanter is the hypocrite that he accuses Lebron of being. Kanter doesn't stand for human rights abuses committed by Western allies, he actively supports an apartheid state with over 50 years of occupation abuses. This is all theater and a possible ploy for relevancy. He knows he can score brownie points from right-wingers by attacking Lebron. You would think Lebron is the only person in history that has ever profited off the world's second largest economy with the way people single him out.

Outside of tweeting, what has Kanter done that was of any risk to him personally?
What has Kanter done that can even compare to Lebron's I Promise School?
Spoken against the turkish government, lost his nationality, was arrested in romania and faced extradition to turkey, cant be in contact with his family, cant travel to europe because of threat being arrested and sent to turkey or worse.
He is going to open a school in okc.
People take this school thing to serious Kanter literally can’t go home for standing up for what’s right

The WTA got more backbone than the US government, NBA, silver, and leQing combined.
They are willing to cut all business ties to the PRC. It might be lipservice but at least they said it out loud instead of cowering in fear because of money.
As an aside. the PRC and XI are trash but so was Tibet before china. It was a society based on serfs and lamashalama institution treated people as subhuman. Brits took over for a hot sec before finally the PRC. A lesser evil but not as crappy.

Seriously, most people need to do a bit of research on Kanter.
He is publicly outspoken on many issues. To the point that he had his Turkish passport revoked and he and his family were declared terrorists by the Turkish president, and he receives thousands of death threats a year, mainly from Turkey, after his pro-democracy stance flew in the face of the Turkish President.
He has risked his family over his views. He doesn't travel overseas anymore due to the threats on his life.
I don't want anyone on here being so ignorant to say that Enes Kanter doesn't ever risk anything to put his views across, and that he's not a man that doesn't stand for what he believes in.
Ya but kanter isn’t there favorite player so they’ll side with the”woke guys”

Kick this clown kanter out of the nba already…And whoever disagrees with Lebrons stance and tries to bring up China just be honest. Look at yourself in the mirror and admit the only issue you have is that you have an issue with him standing up for the rights of black Americans.
You can’t tell a person what social issues they need to stand up for especially when it’s an issue that has impacted a person and their family. Kanter is out of line and basically using lebrons name for clout which is cowardly for another professional athlete.

Heavy is the head that wears the crown.
If you want to be the "King" and a leader on social justice issues, you gotta lead. LBJ failed when it came to China. He did bend the knee. Kanter isn't perfect, but he's also not wrong here. I hope Lebron (as well as other stars and the NBA itself) step up and stand up for those that China are oppressing.
I've always been really impressed with who LeBron is as a man/person. Hopefully he can educate himself and help lead on this. I don't think his failure to do so negates all the good that he's done in this world, but it's just an opportunity for him to do even more.
Say what you will about Enes, but he stands up for what he believes in. I'm sure you can point to things that Enes isn't standing for that he should be, but don't let an imperfect messenger dilute the value of the message.
NBA are complicit because they're greedy and shameless. It leaves a bad taste in my mouth and should in yours too.

For me, the question is where exactly do you draw the line? Are you gonna also start boycotting buying mobile phones because they are made in China? Or are you gonna start boycotting every company that has items manufactured in China?
He didnt have to say anything in first place. He is a player and not a spokesperson. He positioned himself on the wrong side for pure selfish reasons and got exposed for his fake social warrior makeup. He was also very upset when Giannis and the Bucks lead the league in boycotting games, it has been reported how he complained that he should have been the one.
Y'all need to stop finding excuses. Reaching way too hard.

Which apartheid state does he actively support then. First and foremost, he takes clear position against an authritarian, borderline dictator guy in Erdogan, who has taken over power and destroys freedom, democracy and human rights one by one in turkey over many years now. They influence politics and use the religious leverage to blackmail other countries. Over here in germany he established a shadow government and encourages muslims to demonstrate against israel for example. That is who Kanter is opposing to, and Erdogan is known to incarcerate opponents without legal cause for years so Kanter knows better than to visit turkey. The state you refer to is the state Kanter fights, taking personal risks for himself and his family. So please stop spreading lies and misinformation.

Kanter isnt ever getting close to being the Basketball player LeBron is, that is correct. As a human being, and a political activist, its exactly the other way around.

Especially if I had to compare the plight of those that Kanter is standing up for (the Uyghurs, Tibetans, etc)... with the social justice issues that Lebron speaks about, with most of these issues (but not all) being farcical. AFAIC, Kanter takes a stand for people who are actually downtrodden... and against governments/systems that are actually oppressive... who could actually retaliate against him... and that's all I will say.
By the way, when you say Lebron's I Promise School... do you mean the school that Lebron's foundation is providing 25% of the funding (with money obtained from donors, such as Harvey Weinstein, and not 25% of Lebron's money)... while Akron's taxpayers are funding the other 75%?
https://www.cleveland.com/metro/2018/08/whos_paying_for_lebron_james_n_1.html
lebron paying 25 percent for a public building and finessing the middle/upper class to pay for a school that helps poor kids is a pretty big W in my book. I think people just dont like that he feels the need to take credit for it.
I will say this though.... I FULLY believe there are people at nike who are giving LBJ the most articulate propaganda of how this is a two sided issue and that the nazi camps in china might not even be a real thing, so I get why he seems to stay out of it.
LeBron doing 25% of the work and collecting 100% of the credits. Where I have seen this before? Oh right on the basketball court when he wins championships...
Before was valid criticism, you sir have mixed a drink of haterade. There are kids in that school that come from terrible beginnings like the ones he had that now have a more fair shot in life. Bron doing 25 percent of the work is incredible and deserves a lot of credit. Getting hung up his name being on it as opposed to the public good? All you did was make a point about yourself not him. Congratulations.

All this. Just theater.
Folks praising Kanter's "look at me" ploys are the same ones calling Lebron an egomaniac.
Not sure anyone likes the degree to which corporations are beholden to China, but to act as if lebron is the sole or even the primary benefactor of it is silly.

Uh no. Lebron should stand for black athletes. And Asians should stand for them too. I know that there are a significant number who do, and a significant number who don’t. And I’m glad that black people didn’t forget Asian people during the Civil Rights movement. And that MLK was outspoken on Vietnam. You may want everyone criticizing Lebron to be a racist, but they’re not. He’s just wrong here.
Funny thing was, he brought it on himself. He should have just not said anything when the China issue was brought up, but he actively supported the CCP narrative, and at that point, he already waded into the conflict. When I see what Serena and other athletes worldwide have done for Peng Shuai, it makes me realize Lebron doesn’t care enough. That’s not to put down his good work — he does a ton, but he’s done damage too.
