Maxey gives us 80% of what Harden was giving us anyway. Thybulle and Simmons will solve our defensive problems by themselves.

Then its just a matter of the mandate being repelaed.

Simmons/Kyrie/Thybulle/KD/Claxton

Maxey/Mills/Harris/Aldridge off the bench

To me thats the better overall team than what we have now.

Get it done Marks!

....which is kinda why Maxey as a sweetener is a pipe dream.

If after all this noise that no trade happens, you best believe Sixers are getting hit with some nice tampering charges. Woj is putting his credibility on the line and rarely is he wrong, unless a twist occurs last minute. If a trade were going to happen, it should have happened by now. I think this idea that bickering about pieces is just to create suspense and views which they are doing a great job at.

I mean, I'm pretty confident there was some back-channel communication between Harden's people/Morey/Rubin too. I'm just not sure that stone is best tossed from Brooklyn's glass house. Unless one is making the case that Durant/Kyrie/Harden came together strictly through above board measures....unlike every other major star move over the last 10 years. Teams just have to not be dumb enough to leave a trail, which is the case 99% of the time.

Does Morey think he's getting Harden for free?

I'm not sure we should be trading Mills. That defeats the purpose.

That's my thinking. Getting out of signing Harden to an albatross contract when he is clearly on the decline is a win for us.

Getting traded away from this sh*thole team has been the best thing ever for Caris LeVert. I'm happy for him, he deserved better and got it.

philly knows harden would sign long term. they dont do it otherwise.

Nets should not make a deal in season unless its a huge offer

Kyrie as a 2 makes you a championship level team.

Harden was brought here for Kyrie insurance (and to a lesser extend KD). He was 100% that last year as KD barely played. This year he is 90% of what he was last year which isnt enough to carry the team. last year it was.

With the Big 3, Harden is the better choice. we are unbeatable. but moving forward after this year i dont want to extend harden even if we win a title this year. He is almost a lock to look like a really bad contract in 1.5 years

Tampering between players = irrelevant and impossible to police anyhow

Tampering with a guy who is a pending FA in the offseason before FA opens = no big deal

Tampering with a guy who will be an FA in the offseason, at the trade deadline = sketchy AF if the team not the player initiated it

i dont really care on any of them... but if its #3 that can be problematic

Levert was an inefficient chucker and losing player. we did great to move on from him. good dude, glad he is healthy, trade may have literally saved his life.

But EVERY. SINGLE. SEASON he played for the nets we had a better record when he was out injured vs. when he played. He also got way too much credit for our playoff seasons when it was DLO/Dinwiddie who deserved that praise more (since we won with those guys when levert was out)

If we win a chip, anything is fine, be it Harden stays or leaves. We just need 1 chip out of the big three, just 1.

How? You realize if this trade happens, Kyrie won’t have to play PG right? Ben Simmons would be the PG.

Kyrie as a 2 only makes you championship level when your number 1 is in the conversation for being the GOAT. Can't ask KD to meet that standard at his age and his knee injury. KD's Robin needs to handle a bigger burden and Kyrie is unwilling to do that.

Harden being a bad contract in 1.5 years is a wash. At that point KD will be 36 and the team will not be contending anyway. The Harden extension will not affect the championship window.

Trading Harden makes the Nets worse because you will still need insurance when Kyrie gets injured or walks out on the team randomly.

Would Nets fans be disappointed by that?

Drop Green, Drummond, Bembry and Sharpe. Add Curry, Maxey or a couple picks.

Green is a negative in any deal. I'd rather generate a new TPE. The Nets have passed on Drummond in the past. I don't think they have any interest in adding him. The Nets need to free up roster spots.

Starting with a Harden, Millsap for Simmons, Thybulle, 1st starting point which is not enough, one of the following need to be added:

Option 1) Maxey
Option 2) 2 more 1sts
Option 3) Curry, 1 more 1st and get back Brown and Carter

-I would need Curry. Any deal without Curry or Maxey is a non-starter for me. im fine with it not being maxey
-Drummond is at best nuetral to me and if i had my choice id rather not have him on the team.
-Bembry is a jersey kid, close with kyrie (went to same high school) and a fan favorite. wouldnt want to lose him

I'd be disappointed if this happened now. in the offseason id be ok with it thought

Ben, Curry, Thybulle and ‘22 1st for Harden 1 of Brown/Bembry/Johnson, and Milsap a reasonable compromise?
