I'm not calling him a bust, I'm calling him a very raw project who can provide value just due to his size but probably not at an elite level. I think they both had appealing physical attributes that merited hype and excitement, but knowing it will take years.

We will know a lot more a year from now after Rocco is starting C for the Iowa Wolves. A full season in our practices and in Iowa games should be a ton of data not only about his current skill level, but also the level at which he absorbs and implements coaching.

With the limited summer league sample size I have a lot more questions about his physical development than the mental side right now.
Some pretty glaring strength and agility deficiencies at this time that will take a lot of hard work and building up to get him to the level he needs to be at to play NBA minutes. His BBIQ and overall skill level seem fine for his age.

He's 7'4 with really long limbs.
There are going to be awkwardness and limitations to overcome because of that, but if he does the ceiling for him can be really really high.
He doesn't have Gobert stone hands.

I don’t even remember his Summer League all that well. It was a few minutes here and a few there. I look forward to his getting time in a proper team structure along with a defined role and consistent minutes. At this point I look at him as a blank slate two way. I hope good things, but I have no honest clue what he will be in 3 years.

I'm like you. Hopeful, but doubtful. He's a fun story no question about that. Professional athletes for parents and 7'4". The Donk of Dunk. What percent of what American's know about Australia is due to Crocodile Dundee? 50% perhaps?

The subtitles misspell Donk as Dunk. It was meant to be.
