I don’t know if Wall is the ex you’re having selective memory with or the one you didn’t treat right, thought you could do better, and dumped but I’m ready to give it another shot.

Yea Ted will have to do some apologizing to Wall. This would be a feel good story for the fans to bring back WallStar. It would remind me of Dirk Diggler and Jack Horner from Boogie Nights reuniting at the end. They both with through bad times while apart only to reunite

Please "yes".

President Donald Trump referred to African countries, Haiti and El Salvador as "shithole" nations during a meeting Thursday and asked why the U.S. can't have more immigrants from Norway.

I miss John. Peak John…not current John.
Weirdly Porzingis is probably the ideal type of centre that Wall could’ve asked for.
I’d love to see him back.

Apologize? I don’t think so. Wall is making $40 million this year to sit and watch thanks to Ted and the Zards.
But, yeah, if Wall can be brought back, sign me up. He’s hopefully healthy and a smarter, wiser player. On top of that, he’s a lot of fun to watch.

I want to see Wall dougie onto the court while the camera pans to Terd stuffing down some Papa John garbage pizza. Then Trezz bursts thru the wall like the giant Kool aid guy, wearing a Greenberg and Bedderman jersey.
Can't say I do. Who else gonna shoot?

Pass. The Rockets beat the Lakers tonight playing a bunch of 19,, 20, and 21-year old players.
Wall is older, played with a sense of entitlement at times and was last fully healthy about 4 years ago.
I hope the Wizards do not got back to Wall and Beal.

Honestly if he gets a a buy out and we use the mini mid or part of the mid on him with. 2 year or A 2 year plus some options. I'd be all for that! It's an adorable option and if wall can still ldosh 10ast a game and get us around 15 pt and not eb a siv on D. If he comes back motivated to stay in the league then he could still be good.Chocolate City Jordanaire wrote:Pass. Re: John Wall Appreciation Thread - Part III
If he had played this year and was healthy and improved on his stats from his single season in Houston, it would be far likelier to happen.
I don't think they can afford to do this unless Brad isn't just "sure, why not" on it, but 100% fully on board and actively trying to mend fences in order to make it happen. Anything less than that, and there's too much potential for the return to go poorly.

This.
I just don't think Wall is a good player anymore because he spent too many years playing with that sense of entitlement. He thinks he is better than he actually is, and therefore deserves to take plays off defensively and to stand still when he doesn't have the ball.
It's rare for a leopard to change his spots. I highly doubt John Wall will have a revelation and suddenly do all the little things you are supposed to do on a basketball court - and certainly not for a newbie coach who lacks credibility. Wall also has no instincts to play off ball in our motion system. We would have to run everything through him. But he is no longer good enough to be that guy. It would be the Westbrook problem all over again. When the pick-and-roll got snuffed out, we'd end up seeing a lot of iso-ball leading to inefficient midrange shots.
The Wizards are starting to build something here. I really like the ball movement, the hustle, and the unselfishness of this Kyle Kuzma-led squad. They are playing the right way. The offense is working, and the defense is close (still need to clean up the mistakes and phase out Bryant at C and the midget PGs). I'm hoping they can maintain that style while integrating Beal, though I'm doubtful. I'm positive they won't be able to do it while integrating both Beal and Wall.

The first part of your statement is quite possible.
But as for the part about "taking plays off defensively", when you have bone spurs tearing into your Achilles to the extent your socks are filled with blood, I could see taking it easy at some points.

Even if it was due to bone spurs, he did it for the last 3 or 4 years of his career and those bad habits are hard to break. It has become ingrained with him. He just doesn't move off ball. He is one of the worst ball watchers I've ever seen. If you are healthy enough to average 20 points and 9 assists on offense, you shouldn't be 2nd-to-last in the league (to 39-year-old Dirk Nowitzki) in distanced traveled per minute.
Wall went an ENTIRE SEASON (1401 minutes in 2017-18) with 0 points generated off of off-ball cuts. The season before that, he played 2836 minutes and had a total of 4 points off of off-ball cuts. Wall was an All-Star both seasons, so his bone spurs couldn't have been THAT bad.
I don't mean to imply that Wall was never a good player. But he was always a player who needed the ball in his hands. Those kinds of players go quickly from being net positive to net negative once they lose a step. Wall, at age 32 coming off an Achilles injury, has surely lost a step. And in today's league in particular, ball-dominant guys just aren't doing as well. There is too much switching on defense and fewer immobile bigs to abuse in switches. Even Luka and Harden are struggling to be efficient in a heliocentric offense. You definitely can't do it without a deadly perimeter shot.

Re: John Wall Appreciation Thread - Part III
Wall was a massive boat anchor according to the on/off numbers in over 1000 minutes in 2018-2019. It’s pretty silly to think that post-achilles tear 3 years later at 32, he’s going to be any better.
The ship has sailed. Wall was done with his NBA career in 2017-2018. He never developed any off ball game, and decided he didn’t wanna play defense either. Someone like Andre Igoudala is still an ELITE defender at age 38 because he’s willing and plays with effort. Wall just decided he was above that. He’s always been far more physically gifted than guys like Mike Conley, Chris Paul and Kyle Lowry, but never developed shooting ability and never had the same basketball IQ or compete level.
Even someone like Derrick Rose has totally changed his game to be an elite defender and a high level 3pt shooter. He’s a REALLY good player now. Wall just never wanted to do any of that.
It would be a nice feel good story, and you can criticize Sheppard all you want, but he has made a concerted effort to only bring in guys that play hard and play unselfishly. Wall doesn’t fit that.

Wall missing the only city and fan base that actually appreciated him. Coming in after harden to
Houston and with Jalen…he found out that Houston can lose with or without him and they don’t care.
DC care(d) about wall. I doubt anyone cares now. With Beal and KP the wiz have two number 3 options that could make a team fun to watch. But is wall actually better than Ish at this point?
Wall didn’t know how good he had it with a huge salary and a team and fan base that loved him unconditionally- We knew he sucked but he was our guy so we stood by him like he was Kobe when Kobe was passed his prime.
Nothing tells me wall would be a great vet. Seems like the worst type of vet to have around Rui & Deni. Litterally the opposite of Westbrook- who pushed the guys to be better. What’s wall gonna say…” don’t be like me off the ball? “ .
There are no clips or reports of wall training like a mad man on his shot or anything. It’s all cars, clothes, girls, vacations and sneakers with Wall even today.
The people that want wall back are nostalgic for the good ole days but Honestly Was Walls prime year he lost to the IT led Celtics? If so, wow it was fun but that’s underwhelming considering the arc of ITs career. in a story telling sense losing to a epic hero or villain tells someone how great you are in history- losing to IT isn’t like Gil losing to Young Bron, in hindsight it tells you how low the bar was for the wiz. Hard times require hard truths- walls best or peak days are multiple tiers below any of the days of the greats of his era…
Love wall personally but the hardest pass possible on him coming back to DC

The Trez Greenberg and Bedderman my favorite commercials since the old school eastern motors commercials...it makes me want to get a sucky flashy over priced used car and then sue them just to support those staples of the DMV
