Yeah we all know you have no clue what she's being told and I'm assuming no professional experience either as a lawyer or a therapist. I just think it's strange that you nonetheless think it's worthwhile to detail at a granular level what is being said and why.

You love using demeaning words like weird and strange and odd and wild. It just degrades the conversation here and makes me not want to engage with you. It's abrasive.

It seems inappropriate to me for you to speculate as to what an abuse victim is being told and what strategy they are using.

I've told you I grew up like the child witness recorded in the video. Other than my mother, I've befriended females who are victims of abuse so I'm familiar with the court systems. My own sister is currently a victim of abuse.

Weird huh? Strange for me to speculate? Odd. Wild. Inappropriate.

Are my words gonna change the life of the victim, the abuser, the child, or the Hornets?

Then why do you care? I can speculate without rendering judgment. I can wait for facts. I can trust the front office to make the wise decision(s). I can expect the NBA to take care of business...

My thoughts and feelings regarding domestic abuse and physical abuse waged by a father against harmless children are totally appropriate for me personally. And not at all wild.

So while I respect your opinion that my thoughts are inappropriate and wild regarding this topic, I find them to be natural manifestation of past experiences. I look for closure, rationale, resolution, sense, order.

I don't have to be right. I don't have to be 100% accurate. There's no reward in that for me.

But to think this way and sort out this kind event which quite frankly triggers past trauma, I'm at peace with the places my mind takes me, speculative, analytical, whatever.

I've seen a woman fresh off an assault in my own home as an 8 year old boy.

And I can tell you she wasn't in the condition to spit out bullet points.

It's not an impossibility that a team like the Thunder, Rockets, Knicks, etc. wouldn't mind the heat of trading for Miles. Get a pick from one of those teams and let them deal with this.

I think pulling the qualifying offer is the right move. the fact that it kind of screws over the team's plans in free agency is really too bad, but it can't be part of this decision. cut bait, and then it's time for Miles Bridges to put his life back together and decide what kind of father he wants to be for his kids.

^ This. Foolish to pull the QO. Hornets are probably concerned only with the optics bc it makes no sense otherwise. There are no meaningful options to use the limited cap space on that pulling his QO would free up.

Just keep Bridges away from the team and hold his rights hostage. If he's convicted of the current felony charge and does jail time, he'll be suspended and we won't be paying him anyway for the duration of the year.

Conversely, if the wife has second thoughts and decides between now and an eventual trial to cease cooperating, thus leading to a lesser misdemeanor plea deal, we still have his rights and can flip him to an unscrupulous team like LA for future capital around the trade deadline. Otherwise, as several have discussed, if we simply cut him loose and he later dodges the felony wrap, some other team will be happy to scoop him up for free.

I agree with Mutombo. He's already destroyed his value to the franchise. Rather just treat him like a commodity and trade him for any possibile value. Don't reward him with the opportunity to fall forward into a great situation he doesn't deserve

If the league punishes Miles by disqualifying him, I wish there was some way for us to get the economic benefit of his bird rights. It really jacks up our cap strategy to just lose those altogether.

It's pretty much a fact that if that happens, he'll be an All-Star and people will bash Charlotte for letting him go.
