Im sure you have a plan for the later rounds, but i think you should have gone with a better PG now who can hit Grainger and Aldridge in their spots. Grainger is a good 1 on 1 player, but he is an even better when hes moving without the ball. You need somone who can find him when he comes off the screen for the open 2 or 3. Matthews is a great player though. Definatly towards the top of my current list of "BPA" But you can find serviceable SG's later on too. Not so much with starting PG's.
True... I am looking to trade up into the late third early 4th to get my point guard. Theres about 5 or 6 guys who would work good with this team. I ont need a pg like rondo or nash who has to set the table perfectly for guys but a pg and good penetration is always important for any offense.
I think Calderon would have been sick on your team. I didnt wanna name drop before, but now that he was taken...I think you messed up by passing on him. Just my 2c though.
Knicksfan20 wrote:LOJ you can spin it however you want to. Faried is a good player, but he is a bad fit for your team no matter how you try to spin it. IF you want to play him at SF go for it. You cant just assume he will come in with a jump shot next season. Especially when he is such a bad shooter already. You reached on him, and you also reached on Pekovic. Both good players, but both players could have been had 10-13 spots after you selected him. (Maybe less for Pek, but you still could have had a similar C with similar talent)
This is your first BAT, so make your mistakes now. But if those were the two players you really wanted, you should have traded down both times.

ctorres wrote:My plan worked!! I got Ray Allen who i was considering at 60 before I traded the pick. Also got one of the absolute best shooters at the PG position in Jose Calderon who runs the pick and roll very well.

LOJ wrote:mpharris36 wrote:he is having trouble because sessions isn't a great fit for the lakers offense...bynum and gasol are clogging up the paint which doesn't allow sessions to get into the paint.
Maybe I am speaking out of turn for Paco but I see him building a mini celtics (real life team). Sessions is his poor mans rondo but he has a great shooting 4 and 5 even better than the real life celtics to spread the floor.
Rondo has no problem getting into the paint because the floor is spaced...i see paco doing the same thing with his team.
Can't compare Bargnani to Garnett on defense and rebounds.

Whaaaaaaaat, this coming from a guy who picked Ricky Rubio coming off an ACL tear with his 1st round pick?
Please if you are going to have a legit discussion present facts not just a baseless opinion.

Great pick NYSOM...I think you have one of the best teams out right now.
My favorite combo's thus far are NYSOM's (JJohnson-Boozer-D12); mpharris (Jrue-Bron-Gortat); and whoever has the (Conley-Durant-Bosh)...though I would have liked to see Tyson Chandler as his selection over Bosh to pair the DPOY with arguably the best offensive option in the game. But he still has time and options to get that coveted defensive big.
I think TEAM building goes largely unnoticed in these competitions by the new guys, but it always seems as if the vets get it right!
I'll be watching as it unfolds!
