But I think you're in a position to make out pretty well with both picks. All it takes to give the 10 value are one or two idiosyncratic reaches in the mid lottery: Minnesota takes John Collins at 7 and likes him next to Towns; Dallas takes Lauri at 9.

Kings are not trading the 5 & 10 to move up to the 3 lol .

When did that rumor get shot down? I missed it. Lonzo would be perfect for the Kings if he's there, stretches the floor with Hield, Skal..

It's been downplayed a number of times by different sources such as Vlade, Woj, and Sac Bee.

5th - PG Fox 6'3 172
10th - SF/PF OG Anunoby 6'8 234
34th - PF/SF Jonah Bolden 6'10 227

C - WCS, KK, Papa
PF - Skal, Bolden, ?
SF - Bogdan, Anunoby, ?
SG - Hield, Temple, Richardson
PG - Fox, Galloway, ?

We would also add a another PG and F, either a vet we signed as an UFA or RFA we signed to an offer sheet or a young guy we liked from summer league. We could also look to add at those positions thru a trade taking on a bloated salary plus a pick. But that is the framework I like in terms of keeping it simple.

I would be quite happy with it if it goes like this.
Thinking about it more, I wouldn't mind trading for future assets for contracts instead of picks this year. Keep stockpiling future picks to make a big splash down the track.

I would rather have Fox than Ball as I feel Fox is the better overall player & teammate and no Daddy issues either .

Kings are not trading 5 & 10 for 3 . I could see 5 & 34 but not 5 & 10 . If Celtics said no I would just pass .
I do not see Ball as a perfect fit . I see Fox as the perfect fit . Because I know we are not getting Fultz Ball would be my second choice not 1st .

I would like to see

# 5 Fox
#10 Issac if not Markkanen I could also be okay with Monk , Smith , Ntiliikana , Mitchell or Kennard
# 34 Bell if not I could be okay with Swanigan , Rabb , Mason or F.Jackson

If we did get the 20th pick via trade I would be looking to get any of : Bell , leaf , ojeleye or giles

Hey guys! I come in to check to see what's going on every now and then. We are in a grand position and finally can do the rebuild thing with sense and strategy.

If Fox/Tatum is there at #5 (which would mean Issac would be the surprise pick (unexpected) of the Draft) I think we have to go with Tatum. I know we have been struggling with good PG play for a long time, but Tatum reminds me so much a Allan Houston/Rashad Lewis player. He is so smooth and fluid with the ball, it would be difficult to pass on him.

Then this is where we can become super flexible and creative. We can then package the #10 with Bmac to the Lakers for D'Angelo Russell and a future pick. The young core could resemble something like:

D'Angelo/
Buddy/Bogdanovic
Tatum/Richardson
Skal/
WCS/Pop

With the right atmosphere and developmental program system as well as coaching we could well be on our way. Just a thought

Fox fits more with the kind of point guard play you've had with Rondo, Collison. If I were in charge I'd like Lonzo's long bombs and ability to turbocharge the offense, make it greater than the sum of its parts. You could keep Reke as a slashing small forward and be modestly competitive, and at least have pieces that fit together well.

Between Isaac, Lauri, Ntilikina, Monk and DSJ, you're probably only looking at one or two of those. Isaac is being linked to PHO, Ntilikina to New York. DSJ could go sixth or seventh. You might luck into Tatum or Jackson as a slider.

If Jaylen Brown is available because of the Celtics either drafting Josh Jackson or getting Paul George or Jimmy Butler, he'd be a great target for the Kings. I would trade the #10 for him. I doubt that's enough though. They might want to draft Zach Collins or someone at that 10 spot.

The more I think of it the more I have the belief that someone will slide to #10.
Also just looking at Draft Express, they have Frank slipping to #14 instead of the Knicks picking him. Monk to the Knicks instead which I like for them.

How do you know the Kings haven't promised Josh Jackson? Not everything is made to the public. Vlade and Co. don't have to announce every step they take. They don't have to reveal any step they take, and most don't. So, everything in public is speculation and rumors - which that "promise" statement just may be a false rumor. However, we wouldn't know the answer to that. The Kings already know who they are taking, but of course we don't know that answer. Just like this situation - they very well may have told Josh jackson that if he is on the board at #5, they guarantee they will take them. Those conversations are kept private.

LOL if Fox is just smoke in hopes of drafting Jackson. I'd have to applaud Vlade and co. on their effort.

Or maybe it's not like that. Maybe Fox was their guy with the assumption that Jackson was gone, which is very likely. So, I don't think there's any smoke and mirrors. I am sure Jackson is higher on their big board than Fox.

It seems like there's a ton of uncertainty with regards to the top of the draft. Mainly....Will the Lakers pass on Lonzo? If so are they going Jackson at 2? And is Boston taking Jackson or Tatum at 3? (assuming Lonzo goes 2). And did Phoenix promise Issac at 4? With this much noise i suspect the draft being somewhat predictable thursday night (unless PG gets traded for 2 or Boston trades down)..i suspect the top 10 looking something like this...

1.FULTZ (PHI)
2.BALL (LAL)
3.TATUM (BOS)
4. JACKSON (PHX)
5. FOX (SAC)
6.ISSAC (ORL)
7.MONK/MARKKANEN (MIN)
8. NTILIKINA (NYK)
9. SMITH JR (DAL)
10.MONK/MARKKANEN/COLLINS/KENNARD/MITCHELL

I think the Kings have to take Fox if he is available at 5. He has arguably the most upside of anyone in this draft (save Jackson IMO, but he will likely have off the court issues). After the Boogie trade, Kings saw a serious lack of shot creation for some of their perimeter threats and I think the athleticism of Fox will create some opportunities for Buddy, etc. He also plays D which Joerger will like.

Also, for those local to Sacramento (and if you haven't seen it). The Kings are hosting a block party in midtown for the draft. It should be a good time:

That block party has my mouth watering, but it's supposed to be 110 degrees. Idk if I feel like dying Thursday. I want to experience a Kings championship before I die.

Yes, the heat is a real bummer I suppose; but my understanding is that there will be a lot of tents so it will be shaded. Worst case, it's literally steps away from a bunch of air conditioned bars which is probably where Ill end up.

Return to Sacramento Kings
