Re: Around the League
The worst parts of all star Saturday night:
- live player, in event interviews are often cringey, if you want to highlight players find the more thoughtful ones and do pre taped segments or something. Having a lady in a shiny pant suit interview Miles Turner so he can yell “INDY I FEEL YA” is pandering and dumb
- Steph vs Sabrina was awesome, because there was some element of pride or authenticity on the line. Whether it was right to root for the woman, or the man, or for Steph to get embarrassed.. whatever your angle was it felt more meaningful than a senseless exhibition. NBA need to find more ways to capture that
- Dunk contest judges are awful
- Skills contests and dunk contest should be fun. But they often create rules or commentary or sequences that take the fun out of it. Whoever is making these decisions, it really should be as simple as: does it showcase our players and our game in a fun way?
- LOL Jaylen Brown. I could tell he was probably lame and uncreative and he kind of proved my suspicions
- Skills contest is a decent concept, executed so poorly, I can’t stand it. These are some of the most skilled athletes in the world, and you ask them to dribble around three things, pass a ball through a 6 foot circle, make a layup, and shoot a three over a 4 foot spinning windmill? LOL. There is a way to do a skills thing that could be mildly interesting. But they aren’t even close
- The old man in me wanted to hate the LED floor, but there were cool aspects to it (I couldn’t handle it in a real game though)
- Has Giannis replaced Dikembe as the guy who sits court side and delights us with his facial expressions?

All those illegal screens that Bam sets wouldn't seem so illegal if he was setting them while in a Bucks uniform..
They'd be whistled though. Nothing to see .imo, they have the same agent & are acquainted.

Kevin was at Tuesday's game vs the Heat. They did a 20 year anniversary of the founding of the Rim Rockers. I had not realized that Kevin himself started that. They made no reference to him having been Bango (I'm sure due to kids possibly being there, etc ), but they had lots of Rim Rockers alumni dunk at halftime.
Pretty much the only good part of the game, haha
97-98
Nick Van Exel (LAL) on defending the Stockton-Malone pick-and-roll: "Yeah,
I got a way to defend it. Bring a bat to the game and kill one of them."

Comments like this are why good players don't compete in the dunk contest.

I had no idea he started rim rockers either. Didn't he give up being Bango because his wife was relocated for her job? Maybe I'm not remembering that correctly.
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

Do you think his dunks were good?
Also, Vince Carter, Shawn Kemp, Nique, Aaron Gordon, Zach LaVine… good players have shown well in dunk contests. You have innovative stuff, or you don’t. It’s not like some secret double standard or internet critic is holding Jaylen Brown down. He just had lame ideas. The MJ glove was half a good idea, he just didn’t do anything good with the idea.

Kenny seemed a bit drunk, honestly. He said some things that led me to believe that his sober-brained filter wasn't operating.

Re: Around the League
The three points competition felt like having the masters and three guys put on a good showing and shoot -3. Then for some reason prime tiger decided to play a round And shoot -5. Like both events were cool separately but just weird back to back

Yes, his wife is a neurologist. They moved to Tennessee. He stepped down in 2014, at age 36. I’m sure he’s still in great shape, but he got out before he lost his physical skilz.
He was easily the best Bango. And it wasn’t just the acrobatics. He had a presence and vibe the kids and adults could relate to.
Still the single greatest mascot trick ever.

We've all got to chill a bit re the ASG. Us grizzled, ornery, rusted on NBA fans are not their target market. This is a bit of fun for the kids and casuals who get their NBA fix through TikTok.

With the way this all-star panel (chuck) talks about the Celtics, you'd think they were the 90's Bulls. Better not choke again these playoffs!

Getting some mixed messages here with Draymond as a featured commentator on TNT.

Draymond Green being part of the broadcast like he’s some type of national treasure instead of a league cancer is a travesty.

Re: Around the League -All Star Game
Why is the league's dirtiest player front and center on the all star game broadcast. WTF
