Didn't see this mentioned yet (for those that brought up Joe Johnson.

The Charlotte Hornets and Brooklyn Nets have restarted trade discussions, this time focused on guard Joe Johnson, league sources told Yahoo Sports.

The Hornets and Nets are discussing a larger package that would likely include guards Lance Stephenson and Gerald Henderson and forward Marvin Williams, league sources told Yahoo Sports

http://sports.yahoo.com/news/sources--h ... 52817.html

I'd like it for both sides.

Thank the basketball gods for not cursing us with that JJ contract (Although we NEVER would have traded for it). I wish His Airness good luck with that squad.

Wow that Paul George trade proposal is atrocious. And I hate to be the heartbreaker here but batum isn't getting traded. The blazers are one "Gerald green" (should have kept no Williams) away from being a contender. Why on earth would they trade batum?

Len/Moti

Suns say that this year isnt the year to make the push. They concede to OKC/NO for that #8 slot, and go the youth route for the rest of the season. The team will still compete, but the expectations remain low. IF they do well, then great, but i'm not banking on the playoffs. They clear money to resign Dragic, and give themselves the flexability to make additional moves before the AS break.

We're already throwing around the "blow it up & rebuild" trades? Awesome. Bored as.

Pacers out: Paul George, David West, Allen
Pacers in: Bledsoe, Morrii, Tucker

Assumes Pacers don't want to waste the year while George recovers and a lineup comparable to what PHX currently has could challenge out east.
Value wise, Bledsoe is a shade less than George but out east he'd be a top 3 PG. Morri for West more than make up the difference.
Fit wise, George Hill supports Bled ala Goran's current role, but Hill is better suited to guarding SGs and paying off the ball than Goran is. Hibbert is the defensive anchor, who should perform better with the spacing created by the Morrii.

Bledsoe, Watson, Sloan
GHill, Stuckey
Tucker, Miles, Copeland
Markieff, Marcus, Scola
Hibbert, Mahinmi

PHX then flips Thomas and Plumlee for a young project PF (Randle, Montiej, Vonleh, Mirotic etc.) and filler. Assume he won't crack the rotation until next year - West holds the fort at PF until then and assists in developing Warren et al.

Dragic and West's leadership accelerates youth development as Goran brings out the best in them, like he did with the scrubs last year.

Goran, Ennis
Bullock, Goodwin
Green, Warren (George)
West, Allen (Randle/ Vonleh)
Len, Wright

Next season Green and Allen are gone, replaced by a healthy George at SF and our young PF. Rooks have had 35 games to find their feet and our lotto picks can be used to shore up areas of opportunity.

NEXT SEASON
Dragic, Ennis
Bullock, Goodwin
George, Warren
West, Randle/ Vonleh
Len, Wright

Happy Straya day everyone :)

I still think we will trade the MoBros this season. Besides Philly (Hometown kids and they need talent) i wonder what other teams would be possibilities.

Any ideas (with a plausible explanation)?

Yeah, I have a feeling same as you.

On a team where there's a clear vocal leader who would set them straight. Or atleast a hard-ass coach.

I want the Suns to acquire someone who can be a vocal leader for this team. Even if it's someone who will be a bench player.

I know KG has been brought up by fans before especially with BKY in "sell mode". He's on the last yr of his deal plus he has ties with Suns GM Ryan McD from their days back in Boston.

He also plays a position that we need help at in backup PF.

I'd like to keep Markieff. Honestly, just look at PF's across this league who are Kieff's age and younger. How many of them are better than him? Plus, his contract is just grossly below market value. Replacing him with someone equally as good will cost double his salary with the new cap.

I am fine moving Marcus. His production at his salary level is at best average imo. He's got a fine 3 point shot, but I think between him and PJ that's just 2 guys you don't want at their salaries ending up 3rd string assuming Warren develops to overtake either. I know most assume the Mo Bros are a package deal, and certainly there would be some hard feelings should we split them up, but this a professional business and I believe Kieff would get over it after a few weeks. Hell, they don't play on the same unit anymore and Kieff is producing fine.

I'd like Noel in our system, but not at the expense of the proposals above. Going uber defensive while adding more Tucker-like offensive players isn't the way to go imo. I'd like to see us get guys who are closer to balanced 2 way players, and Kieff is more of a 2 way player than Noel at this point. Plus, Philly, with a high pick this year as well in a big-heavy class, may be forced to take another big and sell on one of Noel or Embiid. I'd rather wait until that time to make a move for any of their bigs. Noel is 5 years younger, so I see his upside, but at that point where you're selling 25 year olds for 20 year old development projects, why even keep a guy like Bledsoe who is also 25?

What do you guys think about upgrading at SF with Wilson Chandler? Denver Nuggets are reportedly in "sell mode" and everyone is apparently available.

Back when Chandler was just acquired by the Nuggets from NYK, he played very well in Karl's uptempo offense ('12-'13 season). Excellent defender, shooting and decent shooter.

I know his career's gone down hill since then but that can certainly be attributed to Brian Shaw as I think every Nuggets player has regressed since.

I think Chandler's worth rolling the dice on.

He wouldn't be asked to do as much here as he would in Denver, he'd be our 3rd or 4th option here.

Their looking for young players so maybe PJ or Marcus + one of Ennis, Warren, Bullock or Goodwin.

I'd love AA here as well (as our primary true SG ending this cute two PG stuff) same thing happened to him that happened to Chandler and rest of Nuggets.

So combining the two trade ideas I mentioned above, here's what I came up with...

http://espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=k2vfper

If needed, we can also swap Goran for Afflalo if Suns feel Dragic won't resign. Both are impending free agents regardless.

He's not my ideal upgrade, as I'd personally like to see us go younger than Chandler (I'd rather have Harris or Ross), but yeah I'd take him, particularly if we can send PJ or Marcus back (don't want to spend $17 million at the 3 spot b/w PJ, Marcus, and Chandler).

Our half court offense, particularly when PJ can't hit the corner 3, tanks because we then become a slashing-based team that teams can always help off of from the perimeter. Chandler solves that and doesn't kill us defensively like a lot of offensive SF's would.

I like Afflalo but not over Dragic, and the last thing this team needs imo is more guards.

Anyone think Houston would consider Green and Marcus for Capela and salary filler?

I don't want to trade Wright. He's perfect for this team so his bird rights are huge for us imo. I'd rather have him than KG. I like the Chandler part of it though. I'd just rather keep Wright and Plumlee than have KG going forward. As much as Plumlee sucks at times, all young bigs do in this league and he's on a rookie deal so we're not all that hurt by him sucking.

Markieff is already better than Chandler imo and I've already posted my thoughts on his contract.

I'd rather trade a pick or 2 plus tucker or Marcus for Chandler. If Denver is selling they should be okay with that.

I want KG more so for his leadership and toughness rather than his actual play (but according to BKY fans, his defense & rebounding still isn't bad).

Yea I don't wanna trade Wright either but he's the only one who would have worked salary wise.

Why do you want MCW so much!!?? :o

I can't understand it...He's better than Terrence Williams but I think he'd be a horrible fit in that second unit, not a single shooter in the second unit...Not to mention we give up 3 starter level guys for 1, who the Suns already passed on to take Len...

I agree with the Mo Bros most likely to be dealt, but I feel it would only be a deal like this where we land a true difference maker:
http://espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=lmuzcp6

Suns make a massive splash and land Bosh who fits our team to a T...the bench depth is obliterated but the starting 5 is perfectly balanced. We keep 4/5 of the starting 5 and land a legit star who can get the buckets we need to close out games.

Len
Bosh
Tucker
Dragic
Bledsoe
---
Wright
Plumlee
Warren
Bullock
TEnnis
Goodwin
JEnnis

Heat run with

Whiteside
Markieff
Deng
Wade
Thomas

^That could do some damage in the East and they'd have much better depth too.

Suns could follow up with a smaller deal to sort the lack of a bench, maybe send out Plumlee + JEnnis to NY for Hardaway and Aldrich?

HE IS NO TWILL DAMMIT! TWILL IS A GOD AMONGST MORTALS! A MAN AMONGST BOYS!

I just know that Philly is looking to trade him for a better PG. I figured the kid has a decent game, he just cant shoot (at all), and Coach Horney would be the perfect coach to help him fix his shot. If he could shoot the ball, he would be an excellent PG with a much much much higher ceiling than Ennis.

As for your trade, i just dont think it makes Miami that much better for them to actually make the trade. Sure Thomas would be the perfect PG to put next to Wade, as Wade is the real PG with control of the ball on most possessions, thus leaving Thomas with the responsibility to hit the open 3 and score more than being the playmaker, but Miami's problem is that they are already weak and thin with their frontcourt, and downgrading from Bosh to Markeiff would hurt them even more.
