I know there have been reports recently that he could've come over as soon as next year, but when they drafted him, the expectation was that he would be spending at least two seasons in Europe before coming over. Sounds like things are closer to being on schedule rather than going off the rails for Saric and Philly.
Yup. Nothing to see there. Nothing really we didn't know.
Lol, maybe I should try out for the Sixers squad this year. Could probably make the bench crew.

ESPN sources say that, in advance of Thursday's draft, Minnesota has made former No. 1 overall pick Anthony Bennett available via trade.

Even at 5'9 and 30 years old Humble would be the starting Center, make the All Star team, lead the league in scoring and make First Team All Defense

I'd trade them 2 2nd rounders and a TPE for Bennett. If Stevens made Turner look useful, then hey, why not gamble and take a chance on Bennett?

I liked him in the draft. He'd be heading to sr year in college right now. But, I don't think he can play. The fact he can't even sniff the floor is concerning.

I would not touch Bennett with a 10 foot pole. He is scheduled to make $5.8M next year so if he's on our roster, we lose the ability to offer more money to marquee free agents.

I'd take Bennett easy. He has a team option next year too right? We can boot him if he sucks.
I haven't really seen much of him. Barely plays. Let him get 24mpg here & see what he does. Philly shoulda kept him in that Cle trade.

Monta has opted out, and the Mavs don't plan on re-signing him. Sounds like they're pretty confident about getting a max FA in there. I hope they fail, because that means the Cs get a lottery pick next year. Parsons and Old Dirk aren't enough to sniff the playoffs in the West. Danny with yet another heist!
PS - Zach Randolph is 34. That Grizz pick in 2018 or 19 might be a lotto pick by then too.

Dallas will pick up someone. They always do. probably give the max to Deandre Jordan, but not sure that makes them a good team as is.

The last time the Mavs had all that cap space they whiffed (though perhaps to their benefit the way D-Will has since played). Without a big signing like LMA or a similar piece, they could be looking at a top-10 pick next year. Dirk keeps aging, Ellis gone and the West is completely unforgiving to the have-not's.
That said, it's been a long time since Dallas didn't field a competitive team so it's probably wishful thinking.

I agree, this is a little over the top for a role-playing defender. Perhaps if the guy actually improves dramatically next year on his single digit scoring and other numbers, there's a conversation. I mean, they do know another Australian actually WON the title last year in Bogut, right?
