Get a hold of yourselves, men.

What's incredible to me is that the Pistons seemed to have lowered Drummond's value by allowing the media to run stories about how Drummond and SVG aren't on the same page and that Detroit is disappointed with his lack of development. I guess some of that is out of their control but man, if I were them, I'd want to the official story to be that he's the face of the franchise etc.

Good thing Bill Simmons has zero say in the Celtics organization. If you didn't know better, you'd think he was a Knicks fan. What a goofball.

His player option for 2018-19 makes it a non-starter.

I was a big fan at one point, but I'd just as soon drop Simmons' player option at this point and let him walk.

Drummond is as anti system as you get. Can't defend for ****, can't stretch the floor for Thomas at all, can't switch defensively, non existent jumpshot and he actually rebounds. Not happening.

All indications are that Boston’s potential seismic strike is more likely to come this summer.

*sigh*, of course it is. Just like every year, until it doesn't.

I really hope Fultz and/or Ball are the next big thing, because that's gonna be the addition to our team next year. Not an established NBA player.

Meanwhile Bradley, Smart, and IT will all be one year closer to free agency

Yup. I said this in another thread. Waiting on a player like Ball (who we may not even get), and then waiting for him to develop just won't win you a title. Too much time will have passed, and other teams can improve.

We don't necessarily NEED the next big thing to win. A team of 3 all stars, with IT, and a bench, playing the Celtic game in the form of team basketball is a team that can contend for a title.

I think there is a better chance of that version of a title contending team existing, than the one we are theoretically drafting for. Because this current roster with the addition of the next great thing will likely not be enough.

As of right now, we are maybe two stars away from contending.

I don't get the love for Bogut on this board. This guy is always injuried, non-existent in offense, bad free throw shooter.

I'd rather go for Tyson Chandler.

Nice thing about bogut is that we don't have to commit to him past this year. Chandler still has a few years left

Bill Simmons hated the Nets trade.

That's all you need to know to not take him serious regarding trade proposals.

Have I been dreaming this whole time or did the C's JUST make a big splash signing the last time they had an opportunity to do so?

So you wouldn't trade a cheap role player, two mid-20s picks, and filler for Carmelo Anthony?
Y'all more delusional than the guys on the Knicks board

So what ? We want to make a trade and send a pick for Bogut who will not make us contenders this year and he will walk this summer free ?
At least Chandler is healthy, still able to protect the rim and rebounds.

Holley and Keefe are the only thing on that station worth a damn

The only radio personalities I'll even bother with are Toucher and Rich (harmless radio, don't take things too seriously, frequently have Ainge and Gorman on) and Dale and Holley (moreso for Holley; Dale isn't too knowledgeable about basketball but is the best straight man on sports talk). Everything else is garbage and in constant "the sky is falling; trade the picks for treadmill city" mode.

I try not to pay much attention to him, but I'm guessing he's majorly on tilt right now after the Cousins trade. He's also on record all last year as wanting Buddy on the Celtics.

And then you're out of the running for Gordon Hayward or Blake Griffin. The appealing part about Bogut is he IS a rental. Guy is breaking down quickly he doesn't have much time left but he can help us for one run this year until we bring out the heavy artillary next season

You don't get it. First MEM pick could be in the lottery, easily. Second Melo doesn't fit our system or our culture. As a matter of fact I've never viewed him as a winning caliber player. Mike Gorman, one of the most kind and polite play by play commentators said he wouldn't trade a bag of peanuts for Melo on radion(meaning in public)- I agree with him. Third - he cripples our ability of going after any FAs in the forseeable future- so he will be "our final piece".
Good assessment:

PLO wrote:Tatum played OK - took advantage of a few mismatches - decent on the defensive end. He is what we thought he was going into the season - a technically very proficient player operating close to his career ceiling as a rookie.

I wouldn't mind if we get Drummond, Melo, KCP and send out Bradley, Crowder, Rozier, BK18 or Zizič + Amir, Zeller, Jerebko as fillers.

Thomas/Smart/Jackson
Pope/Young/Green
Anthony/Brown/Green
Horford/Olynyk/Mickey
Drummond/???/???

Pick some vets from scrap heap to fill out this roster. We keep BK17, Brown + one of Zizič or BK18.

Return to Boston Celtics
