Price is right and good for him, because he is now set for life if he plays safe financially.

I think he is just your classic reliable jack of all trades including special teams, a guy you can count on and you know what you have. If that is a 4M per year deal, there are kickers making that kind of money these days

Yeah....this is a stretch. He's a solid tackler and serviceable run defender, but he has zero utility as a blitzer and is awful in coverage. Like, "arguably the worst coverage linebacker getting significant snaps in the league" awful. I mean it's whatever if he's the 3rd-4th guy on the depth chart again this season, fine. Just not a dude I'd care to retain on even that kind of money, just like I didn't care that we let Jake Ryan and Blake Martinez walk in previous years.

Trade Jaire for Tee Higgins and give him the extension he wants. He’s an alpha WR1

Recent reports are Jaire will bring back at most a fifth round pick while Bengals are expecting a first for Higgins but will settle for a 2nd with other picks.

A 5th round pick for an all pro caliber DB is depressing but I guess I understand the logic. I didn’t see those reports, I just assumed Jaire had more standing value than that. Jaire and a 2nd is still something I’d do for Higgins tho honestly. He’s a stud.

I don't think that Deebo's value is necessarily indicative of other guys, but hell no on trading premium draft capital (1st-2nd round) for a non All-Pro level wideout when these other guys are going for mid-late round picks. Throw in what you're gonna have to pay Higgins on an extension and he's about to be one of the most overpaid skill dudes in the league just because he benefitted from the Burrow/Chase bump.

100%

We talk number one wide receivers but there are only a true handful in the league....and Tee Higgins isn't one of them.

WR, DE, and CB are 3 critically important positions in the NFL.

Pack has a dire need to improve the talent, especially the top end talent, in all 3.

With some $ to spend in free agency and a full complement of picks, I could see 2 of the 3 areas of need addressed, but it is going to be very hard to fill all 3.

We just spent a 1st on LVN and I don’t get why Gary doesn’t play more. Do we need more help there or can they be better with better coaching and more reps?
For example they played 32 & 31 snaps of 60 defensive snaps vs Philadelphia. The Eagles edge rushers, Josh Sweat and Nolan Smith both played over 50 snaps. What gives?

Fairly expensive deal for a kicker but glad to be off the kicker roulette wheel for a few years

Comes down to what cost is more important to you..
a.Cost of a reliable kicker
b. Cost'ing you a game by having an unreliable one shank one (multiple times throughout a game(s))

I thought that too until I took a look at kicker salaries around the league. This is pretty much the going rate for an established vet.

Yea, I read it makes him the 11th highest paid kicker right now. I don't think of McManus as a top 10 kicker but I'm not complaining. If we didn't give him this someone else would have and I'd rather have a reliable kicker than not

True but when you look at the list of free agents it was either McManus or a rookie more than likely. Unless you want 40 year old Nick Folk.

Yep, which is why I'm not complaining about the deal

Cap is rising too, so it will make the contracts get higher in the next seasons.

Anyway, it's good to have him back and do not have to worry about who is going to be our kicker at least in the next 3 seasons.

Having a shakey kicker is absolutely brutal as a fan so I approve the McManus contract.
