I said that this could be avoided by CP3.

What if someone threw a bottle on CP3's kidd (I'm not sure he had a kidd there)? And what if the bottle would break? And the kidd would bleed from his head? Do you think his wife wouldn't blame CP3 for that? For his entire life? Sure, some terrible being threw that bottle, but CP3 didn't had to put his family in this position.

Unless it's just very common in the USA that family attends away games in the playoffs. To me, being from the Balkans, is just unimaginable.

That is exactly what you're saying though. You're saying fans of the away teams can expect to be asaulted for rooting for a different team and it's their fault. You sound all types of stupid.

I guess the 2 cowboy hat fans in game 1 and 2 should have gotten beat up and it would have been their fault.

I'm saying that you can't expect a reasonable behavior from terrible people and thus it's best to avoid them. And since CP3 is responsible for his family, he shouldn't have brought them there. He can be all politics if he wants, trying to "weed out" the bad people, but you can't put other people in this situation.

You can do whatever you want to yourself, you can go driving 150 miles per hour, but it's very irresponsible to bring innocent people into it. He should have left his family in the hotel, unless USA is just that more civilized country than the Balkans. But giving how many people are shot in the USA, I wouldn't say so.

Large family with many adults in a heavily secured environment, few feet from their athlete family member on the bench, intimidated by scrawny highschooler accompanied with his mom
Pushing and shoving in a family-targeted event is unacceptable, shouldn't happen, and should be be dealt with, but let's wait for details before we dramatize this.

The “looks like a douche” defense is probably good enough here but I expect this kid to be all over Fox News like the Covington Kid soon. Not sure how conservatives are gonna deal with the single earring though

Are we taking random Twitter guys take as gospel

And CP come on man that kids like 13 what do you mean you’ll see him

This kid was escorted out for harassment. What else do you need to know?

I've literally been in sports arena's on two occasions where people in front of me were escorted out for doing absolutely nothing but being in the vicinity where an altercation took place. I'm not saying it didn't happen, I'm sure an altercation happened, but asking for some evidence of it would be helpful at least. All we've seen is this kid was escorted out. I think it's a bit premature to speak on it with literally no one knowing what actually happened other than hearsay. Pretty sure there is a court case going on at the moment where hearsay was automatically believed. You like to have all the actual facts before resorting to judgement, our society loves to do it regardless these days.

I'm noticing something similar with all these fan/NBA player incidents. With every single one...

This low tier team is 2 games away of eliminating first seed. ;)

If you’ve ever played sports and I’m sure you have then you know sometimes the better team doesn’t win. If you’ve played certain sports you’d know you can be the better team for the majority of the game and still lose. Suns are a soft first seed but they should still be doing better then the Mavs. I wish them luck and want them to win so I’m glad they’re 2-2 but I still stand by my assessment that they’re the worst team left.

Even as a Mavs fan, I agree with this. I actually don't think Suns are a soft first seed. Maybe compared to some recent super teams like GSW, but they aren't normal. Suns are super talented.

But the Mavs have by far the worst supporting cast surrounding their superstar compared to any remaining team in the playoffs. IMO you put some of Luka's supporting teammates on other teams and they would look like end of the bench scrubs, but I think playing on this Mavs team with Luka elevates the play of some complimentary guys, and the effect has been in place for a couple years now. Tim Hardaway Jnr was the first major example of it when he came over in the trade.

It's the kid's fault (i.e., the instigator). No one else's. He got ejected from the arena, as he should. Hopefully a lifetime ban as well.

No one can blame the players, the teams, the family for just being there supporting their family member (how is this even a justification?!), the owners etc. It's on the kid.

Don't forget that every team has safety protocols in place to protect fans and players.

I don't care about trash talking. Yelling profanities at a player's family just because they brought them to watch a game should be a permanent ban.

Many NBA players bring their children to games and they should not feel that they are in an unsafe environment.

**** any NBA owner who allows this despicable behavior.

And again you try to point the Fingers towards Cuban, nice. I see a pattern.

Paul told security, security acted and kicked him out. What more you want from an owner? Intelligence tests for everyone before entering to prevent such things?

To be clear: ridiculous and unacceptable behaviour from that fan but that has nothing to do with the basketball playoff series.

Mods seem to have decided no since they've locked attempts to start a specific topic multiple times. That unlike pretty much any other fan/player (player's family) altercation which did get their own threads this specific discussion will be inside of a thread about basketball and not just for the incident.

They locked those threads because the OP was not interested in a discussion but his usual trolling of a fanbase because of his Trae Young insecurities. And you know this. Or should.

I mean you can't pretend to tell me the GB mods who let the most asinine topics have their own thread were shutting that down in an attempt to squash discussion of the incident. Ridiculous to pin this on them and not the OP of those threads.

Can confirm as the mod who locked both those threads. They were locked because their author was using the topic to bash Mavs fans. Sometimes it's not what you do, it's how/why you do it!

I'm very curious to see what actually happened, so I keep refreshing this page/site every 10 minutes to see if an update has been posted, lol. Why is there no video of this incident yet?! Where did all the cam-happy people go when we need them? And what about arena camera coverage? :P

On another note, found this cool clip of the Mavs mascot challenging Ayton to shoot from half-court.

You know The Hoop Central is like the Onion in regards to basketball, right? That is funny though, but I hope you realize it is a joke. It's a parody account.

EDIT: Reading the comments in the tweet, it seems like many people are unaware of that reality which makes it a bit funnier.

Yes. Because fans have never ever disrespected players or messed with their families during games. Clearly CP making up excuses for his terrible performance.
