I think Dart could go either way. I'm 50/50 on this trade and pick. I don't hate it. Though it'll be interesting to see how he compares to the QBs they passed on.

The irony about signing two black QBs is that nobody cares about them cause it’s all about the future of the white QB. Which is what the desired outcome has been. The Son snitched on these mofos.

They could have also been trying to trade up twice because the Commanders were not going to miss out on a QB.Ghetto Gospel wrote:GONYK wrote:They tried to trade up for Jayden Daniels. They signed Russell Wilson and Jameis Winston to play QB.TerrenceClarke wrote:

Giants proved with a Black QB on the table and A white QB on table.
They went with the white QB.
Same thing when they had a black coach on the table with a white coach on the table.
You up here trying to defend this BS.
Literally every team in the league passed on Shedur in the first round.
I don't think Dart is better than SS but it seems like NFL decision makers do.
If you want to say they are all racist, fine, but I don't see the case for the Giants being uniquely racist for not drafting a QB with physical limitations.
daboll said he wanted daniels and schoens son tried to get him to trade up for daniels but i don't think the giants ever made a serious offer to trade up for daniels is confirmed.
iirc, they wanted to trade up with the patriots to 3 to take drake maye
We can speculate but the Giants put it on film that they wanted Daniels before he ever played in the NFL, so it's not like they were just trying to look good in retrospect.

Same story every time bro.
People even using the same excuses when they picked Daboll over Flores.
The Giants could do this 5 more times and it will be some reasoning to defend the BS.
i remember when we discussed this last year and when i asked how many more white QBs or white coaches in a row would it take to no longer be suspicious and they couldn't even give me an answer. that's all i need to know.
Yeah I remember that convo we had.
We prob get another episode in this long running series….
When Daboll is mediocre again like has been since he Been here and the hot new white coordinator is on the table.

I’ll have to trust Daboll on this one. Not my top option. Maybe would’ve taken Shedeur and Milroe over him, but there are things to like.
Good watch on hopeful NYG Franchise QB Jaxson Dart. Obviously a long watch but he grew on me a bit after watching it

again let’s please not waste energy on a very weak qb draft class
ward is the only one that could be a sure thing and even then he’s not franchise caliber

I know because of the importance of the QB position that will get a ton of attention. But man we got Abdul Carter
he was my favorite player coming into the draft. I think the only player I would have drafted over him would have been Cam Ward just because of the positional importance. But Carter is a game wrecker on that side of the ball. The Giants are going to have a legit identity to make QB's lives miserable.

I'm glad we didn't trade KT tonight. I know it's not popular but I think KT is good. He's not great and not living up to his draft position, but he's a starter in the NFL.mpharris36 wrote:I know because of the importance of the QB position that will get a ton of attention. I do think him and Carter are going to go a long way towards unlocking each other and being a lot of athleticism to the line. You can't really keep track of KT, Spiderman, Big Sexy, Carter and Okereke.

They picked up KT's 5th year option as well. You can never have enough pass rushers. Bowen has no excuse not to build an elite defense.

Dane Brugler of The Athletic's Scouting Report:2010 wrote:Can someone give me a rundown of Dart’s strengths & weaknesses?
With his physical tools and rhythm passing, he was an ideal fit in Kifn’s quarterback-friendly ofense, although the simplistic nature of the scheme leaves NFL scouts questioning his post-snap decision-making process when reads aren’t as structured and predetermined. The other key concern is his tendency to prematurely drop his eyes once the pocket gets heated. However, his athleticism to buy time and scramble for positive yards is an asset. Overall, Dart needs time to develop his progression-based reads and anticipation (things he wasn’t asked to regularly do in college), but he is a natural thrower of the football with promising mobility and high-level competitive intangibles. If allowed to develop at his own pace, he offers NFL starting upside in the right situation.
Basically he played in an extremely simplified offense where over 50% of his passes were under 3 yards. When he was tasked with doing more than that, the results weren't very impressive.
But he's big and toolsy and an above average runner.

Glad we got Carter. Hopefully we can get a DT in Round 3.
Dart, eh. I never watched him play and the write up on him doesn't sound like he was worth trading up for
but I'm not surprised either. The word was out that Sanders was dropping yesterday afternoon and it came to fruition. I think he'll be taken early in Round 2. I'm disappointed and frankly I personally would not have drafted Dart with that pick. But again, never seen him (Dart) play.

Re: OT: NFL 24-25 Thread Cont'd
I think this was the best realistic outcome for the Giants
Draft the clear BPA at 3 instead of reaching for a QB, then take a QB later
You didn't give up a ton to move back into the 1st too, so that helps
I don't know enough about Dart to be high or low on him, I just know his draft stock started rising after he stopped playing
You're gonna run into the same issues with drafting a QB with this FO/coach, they're kinda desperate to win and as such developing a young QB will be less important to them than saving their jobs this year, which is never good for the young QB. Then if you replace them next year, the new HC/GM might not be big Dart fans, so they'll look to move on too and it was a waste
But at the very least, you will have Abdul Carter.

I will say Dart should’ve been arrested for the beating he put on Arkansas this year. 515 yards and 6 TDs.
A year learning from Daboll and Russell Wilson will hopefully really help him become a more well-rounded player in the long-term
