It depends on what's going on with this whole extra roster spots for 2-way G-League contracts situation.
It could be easier than ever before to retain the rights to and develop the Robert Covington/Shawn Long/James Webb type of players that you sign as UDFAs.

If we want an additional late 1st rounder, I think we could certainly get one using 2 seconds.
yeah I have done a lot of mocks (because I am bored as ****) and the guy I had at 13 a few days ago could easily fall until the late 20s. Lots of bodies but very flawed ones and a lot of the same profiles. The mid point of this draft is full of bigmen that all kinda do the same ****...scouts will have to earn their money in that area

True. Still not 100% familiar with the type of restrictions on those deals. You can only have 2 right?

Yup. I can't see how guys like Hart/Thornwell are projected to go in the 40's and some of these bigs are lottery picks

The 1st round seems to always be chock full of underperforming freshman that still have highschool hype, assumed upside and athleticism/length appeal.

Yea. I get it, scouts are constantly trying to swing for the home run...but it just pushes some guys down like Brogdon last year for someone to capitalize on and add a perfect role player to there roster.

Hopefully they're angling for a summer league invite. He'd be a great addition to our summer program to put the pressure on Fultz and make him work as hard as possible. An iron sharpening iron type of situation.
That's a very good idea, Kobble. Could definitely help fultz grow as a player
Allen gave fultz a lot of trouble, but the entire Arizona team keyed in on him in the game I watched

There will always be 2nd round finds. What about the "safe pick" lottery prospects that bust in the NBA after having nice college careers? Malcolm Hill can be the next 2nd round find, or not...

I'd like to see Josh Hart here simply for Villanova purposes. I have no idea how he will look as a pro.

Yes, but they're your guys on your roster, and you can bring them back and forth from the d-league throughout the year. It's pretty cool and allows us to make use of these 2nds (instead of consolidating into one pick or just drafting stashes).
The only thing I'm not sure about is how pissed 2nd rounders' agents will be about them. If someone gets picked #40, they're not going to be thrilled about signing a 2-way contract since it's going to be for a lot less than the rookie minimum. (The contract's complicated--if you get called up to the NBA you get paid more per game, but even if you play a bunch of NBA games you're still making like a third of a rook minimum). These days it seems like more than half of 2nd rounders get 2-3 year deals, and I'd guess most agents will fight tooth and nail to have their guys be on that list. I'd expect some gaming around refusing to sign 2-ways becoming a thing right away, and some prospects might drop quite a bit because they'll refuse to sign them.

I like him, he has a Jae Crowder like game/body. Only thing keeping me from loving him as a prospect is his lack of STL/BLK. Id like someone with that build to be more active on D.

“My son already ate his ass up twice,” Aaron Fox says of Lonzo Ball. “[LaVar] can say what he wants to say. I just tell him to go back and watch the film. That’s it. All that yap, yap, yapping, I don’t even got to respond to that. We played them twice. Twice his son got outplayed. I always tell [De’Aaron], let your game speak for it. You ain’t got to talk. You ain’t got to fuss.”

If you could combine Ojeleye's offense and Anunoby's defense, you'd have the #1 pick in the draft.

yeah, but its not like ojeleye is not a good defender...he's a well-rounded strong SF.

Should Illinois' Malcolm Hill be getting more attention? He's 6'6" 230 pounds and can flat out score. Three years of 14 ppg or higher production. Has really good ball skills, too. Not a great defender, but not a liability, either. Not a vertical athlete, but dude has some sudden movement and burst. Very powerful, too.
He's a senior, but he's only 21 years old. That's incredibly young from a grade perspective.
