It looks like Riles and Spoelstra did not want to get their newest addition embarrassed so they sit Butler. Heat still put up a good offensive fight; which is surprising. Where is the vaunted defense though?

It's not about embarrassed, the Heat played last night. No reason to go HAM in the preseason. The rest of the other starters all played low minutes for the Heat as well. Unlike the Rockets who are playing regular season minutes for some reason. Unfortunately with Westbrook re-aggravating his injury, it was proabably a good decision for the Heat not to push the guys on a back to back. The bright side though is that you get random highlight nights from guys like Kendrick Nunn, who scored 40.

Can't gauge if you guys are good or not after playing the Warriors for the 50th time minus their bigs

I was mostly being a smart ass but I do like the good players playing at home for the home fans; and getting their rest on the road games. Back to back; that is kind of hard to do.

I don't understand the Rockets at all. If Harden, Westbrook, or Capela were to suffer a season ending injury, how the hell do you explain that away when they are playing over 30 minutes a game in the preseason?

This just in: warriors starters better than Lakers scrubs.

God these pre season line ups are the worst. I can’t wait for the regular season to start already!!

And previous pre-season games have demonstrated that the Lakers starters are better than the GSW scrubs. As you imply, not much weight should be placed on pre/season games.

Seriously they've played each other 3 times in 5 days. and 4 times in 2 weeks. This is ridiculous.

I don't even think a healthy Westbrook can stop Harden from leading the league in scoring. That's one of the biggest compliments I can give a scorer.

Westbrook has had two guys be at the top of the scoring list with him on their team (Durant and George), so I don't think it's fair to imply that he would stop someone from that. Leading the league in scoring isn't always good though, can imply you are having to do to much, sometimes.

I believe that extra shots WB takes in comparison to Paul will probably come from the other players FGA's and less from Harden's.

Jordan Poole... this kid seems to get crossed and dropped like every game. My god I've never seen a guard get crossed so frequently.

I thought you meant the floor at first, but both are nice. Excellent pass by the C there. He used English and I'm not sure if that's even his 1st language. Nice little spin on it like a bowling ball almost. He found his arch as Chick Hearn used to say (bowling reference, Chick was once the host of Bowling For Dollars, thank you).

Why won’t it?

Lakers have 2 of the top 5 players in NBA.
They have length.
They have depth.
They have shooters.
They have an experienced coaching staff.

They need age/time to gel and get chemistry and better. That will age just fine.

You call a bench scoring 13 points depth? I know you guys are excited that the Lakers are relevant again. But, they proved in game 1 of the season that they aren't the best team in LA. They were "warning" the NBA about game 1 of the preseason being a blow out. I hope you aren't expecting 28 points from Danny Green every night. He was the only reason that was just a 10 point loss.
The Mavs are dead to me now.
