**** no I'm not doing that deal at all for George, Pritchard can go to hell with that offer. Nobody is going to offer that much. That LA/Sac pick is enough don't be a greedy bastard just because we have 2 high picks next year. I hate all these gms asking more from the Celtics and in return get less. Jealous bitches of Ainge

I've heard #2 a number of times now and I still don't get it. The value of PG doesn't change based on the assets a certain team has. Just because I have more money walking into the grocery store doesn't mean I'm going to pay more. What it does mean is that if another suitor offers more than what I am currently offering I probably have the ability to up my offer. But teams aren't going to take a lesser offer just because the Cs have more assets. Thats absurd.

The Brooklyn pick's unprotected; if you think the Lakers will be worse than the Nets that's one thing, debatable but one thing, but unprotected > protected, "warts" and all.....
Couldn't we give them the worse of the two picks?

I think Houston beats that with Gordon/Ariza/Capela/future pick.
Disagree unless it's a 3 teamer. Capela does nothing for Indy
That also leaves Houston with no roster beyond CP3, Harden, PG13 and Ryan Anderson (teams were asking for 2 1st rounders to take on his contract).

Meh, Where Ainges Fear to Trade was an all time great thread title.
George of the Jungle is...something.
Even Curious George is much better than George of the Jungle. What's the jungle got to do with this?
Let's break it down Sports Science style.
George, George, George (3 times = part three) of the Jungle (remember when Pierce/Toine used to call the FleetCenter the Jungle?) Watch out for that Three (part three again, plus PG shoots threes).
Try dunking that in a suit of armor.

I think that is very comparable value, but it guts the HOU team. Can they still compete without those players? If they can not compete then you risk CP3 & PG13 leaving the following year. Then if you are HOU what do you do?
My point with your proposed trade is it isn't realistic IMO.

That's why he's perfect. If this was legit brass would give it to Bullpett. Not Murphy. Bullpett is the wet blanket not a spin doctor. I believe Kaufman has the deal right but Danny is really balking not so much with the Laker pick but with dealing Bradley/Crowder. He's fallen in love with those players and you can't do that.
Doubt he loves Crowder, but it's almost impossible not to love AB.

They don't want to be in the long line of Ainge casualties. A team would rather take a worse offer than make a deal with Ainge.
Handsome.

Danny is still in a position of strength.
We have two young possible studs plus the rest of the crew.

Lol I actually had thought of Curious George too but felt maybe that was a potential offensive connection. How many threads do we get to on this? I'm guessing 7...better load up on names.

See I think he sees Crowder and sees a guy who busts his ass. A real grinder. He would fit on any Celtics teams. That's why he wants to keep him no matter what. The Butler talks last year him and Bradley were the deal breakers not Jaylen. People seem to forget that.

The Brooklyn pick's unprotected; if you think the Lakers will be worse than the Nets that's one thing, debatable but one thing, but unprotected > protected, "warts" and all.....
The way the Lakers pick is protected almost guarantees it will be high lottery. It won't be #1, which is where the Brooklyn pick is better, but all of the conditions put on it gives it a very high probability of being a 2-5 pick in 2018 or 2019. Ainge could have simply gotten the Lakers unprotected pick, but put these conditions on it because he thought it was advantageous for the Celtics.
The future first-round pick that Boston will receive will be the Los Angeles Lakers’ first-round pick in the 2018 NBA Draft, provided that such pick is No. 2, No. 3, No. 4, or No. 5 in the 2018 NBA Draft. If the Lakers’ 2018 first-round pick is No. 1 or is No. 6 or later, the Sixers will instead convey to the Celtics the rights to the more favorable of the Sixers’ own 2019 first-round pick or the Sacramento Kings’ 2019 first-round pick, provided that the more favorable pick is not the No. 1 pick in the 2019 NBA Draft. If the more favorable of the Sixers’ and Kings’ 2019 first-round picks is the No. 1 pick in the 2019 NBA Draft, the Sixers will instead convey the rights to the less favorable of those two picks.

Re: PG Part II: The Summer of George
C'mon its not shocking he would ask for both picks, any of us would do the same if we were in his shoes. But its a negotiation, we'll see what kind of package Ainge can come up with that is fair for everyone. I don't believe any team can touch the celtics offers but Pacers may not want to trade PG to the same conference. I can see the pacers saying screw Ainge and accepting a crappy offer from the lakers or Rockets.

Absolutely it's absurd. It's also a strategic leverage (for the little amount Pritchard has at this point) that forces Danny's hand, or he'll take an inferior offer someone else just to spite them. It is getting ridiculous at this point. Welcome to the new NBA - nobody wants to potentially be in a lopsided trade anymore, so they overask and cut their loss by sticking to someone who really wanted them.
