Cherry on the top for me was when we went into that 1/2/2 or whatever it was we did in a fever dream  or whatever happened early in the last series. Bud was an ill prepared panic merchant despite his many other positive qualities.
100% It’s not even that everyone was specifically game planning it since 2019. More that there has been a fundamental change in the roster makeup of teams in the past 10+ years since Bud debuted this scheme. The plan “We’re going to make role players beat us with above the break threes” was probably a great strategy in 2012 or something. In the meantime, nearly every role player in the NBA has become a guy who hits open above the break threes at a rate approaching 40%.
It’s just refusing to identify/adapt to a fundamental new reality in basketball at large. Beyond dumb.
