Put those Jak comparisons to rest

Who said Jak should go over Harper, or compared them at all?

Jak was being overhyped like crazy.
Him and Traore are neck-and-neck IMO.

Yeah there was a lot going on but I do still have him tied for 5th on my list
I haven't done much traore research to have an opinion

He’s in the 4-5 range, right where he should be.

The guy is new to basketball and already has a pretty good feel for the game. He's also a multisport athlete so if you get Poeltl (Poeltl only has a 7'1 wingspan)with a jumpshot as a high end outcome that's an all star and a very valuable piece.

I cannot buy into the upside of a center who took his 2pt% from .500 to .519. If he can't score the ball remotely efficiently he's going to have problems and the FT% and 3pt sample is sketchy. There is zero reason to buy into him having any kind of reliable jumpshot going forward with his 3pt volume and FT%.

He’s gone from bench to starter with increased minutes and has made micro improvements at nearly every facet of his game. So there is steady growth.

He’s also pulled out advanced moves and passes, not sure anyone projected in the first round has displayed better instinctive playmaking chops.

Add that to him being late to the game and there’s a lot of upside here. He should be thought of as a project.

Scrubs like Kalkbrenner and Ballo who can only pull off simplistic moves have very limited upside. It’s like Mogbo, great efficiency in college, but a lot of it was done on dunks and lay-ups. How well do you think that’s translating to the NBA?

#6 Florida plays at #1 Auburn on Sunday. We'll see how he fairs against Broome.

I can't see the Raptors ever picking Bailey after acquiring Ingram (assuming they plan on extending him).

I mean, he doesn't fit the profile of a Masai guy anyway, but now they will have an end of the shot clock guy.

Charlotte gunning for Flagg, though since trading Nik Richards and Mark Williams, are they looking at Maluach if they move down?

Hornets basically have no choice but to draft Maluach now if they outside the top 4

I mean, I have Sorber and Condon ahead of him, maybe others too.

I could be wrong, he does have a lot of potential. I just think he's too far away and busts far too often to be a lottery pick. (70-80% bust risk)

With the way we are playing it seems Flagg, Bailey, Harper, and Jakucionis won't be available.

Were looking at the next tier of prospects. Who are we liking? I'd love to go after a big, but none of them really catch my eye TBH.

Adding a dynamic guard would be fun outta all this. Harper would thrive with scottie/BI

Let’s see how we play moving forward. Taking two vets out of the equation definitely hurts us in the short term, and if we keep Boucher on the bench we might start losing more.

great to have harper back at full strength after his illness. great reminder of why he's a clear number two in this draft.

also a game that highlights some of the concerns I had with jak fully converting his game to the next level against bigger/better athlete/defenders.

Maluach or Edgecombe will be good fits with this team now...

Kasp has been struggling with his shot since his injury, he’s 4/28 (14.3%) from three in his last 6 games

Either he’s in a slump or the injury is somehow bothering his mechanics

Return to Toronto Raptors
