Yall Bugging. You cant call yourself the best, and have a Ghost writer. Its common place for Weak MC's, Not some dude that walks around like nobody can **** with him on the mic. If you run around like you that dude, then write all your ****. Its like if someone just wrote a "couple" of songs on Illmatic. Guess what...it would NOT be Illmatic.

Thats not true. I just seen mad pictures with him and Nicki just now.
I just checked Meek's IG and went back a few weeks. No pictures of Nicki.
I dont know what your seeing, but I am looking at them as we speak. He is one of the posters that post alot. The first picture appears 3 weeks ago and there is a bunch that follow that point . He was on stage with her last night as well.
Yeah I see them now he only deleted the recent ones.

We don't know if he has a writer though. We know he had a reference track made. 2 totally different things.

Nah. complex has an article and someone from his camp said he wrote a WHOLE verse for drake. He just wont say which one, or what album. You can't call yourself the best and a cat writing a whole verse for you.

here is the article. He also says he is not credited, so that tells you that there can be MAD **** out there...thats not even his.

http://www.complex.com/music/2015/07/drake-ghostwriting-collaborating
Complex: So anyone who says, "Nickelus F writes for Drake" would be mistaken?
Nickelus F: Yes. Have I done work here and there? Yes I have. Do I write for him on a regular basis? No. Have I written for him on a regular basis? No.
Complex: But you have written for him before?
Nickelus F: Verses?
Complex: Yeah.
Nickelus F: Yes, I have done a verse. Not a bunch of verses. I have helped out with hooks and one verse in particular. But I don't write no verses for him.

He gets a script and he recites it. In terms of this ghostwriter situation I thought people would be over it when they found out Jay Z wrote Still D.R.E. And what's strange about that song is it was pretty obvious if you listened to Jay Z back then.
You have to realize that there's a difference between Drake and Dr. Dre. Guys like Diddy, Dre and Ye were producers first so they have ghostwriters and no one cares. Drake is a purely known as a rapper trying to be an emcee, so he has no excuse.
Since we are talking about ghostwriting- is it technically "ghostwriting" if someone wrote your hook without being featured or is it just for verses
Anyways, I've heard rumblings that Drake sometimes doesn't write his own material.. That's why he will never be an emcee period.

To me the Illmatic would hurt because the stories being told are so damned visceral and real. One Love is one of my favorite tracks of all time because it speaks to me and real world experiences I've had, it makes me feel an understanding with Nas. So if I found out, he had that written and just pretended to know that sort of life experience, it'd be a shot.
But then if you told me somebody wrote Marvin's Room...I'd just shrug.

Thats what I been telling people around my way. Dre and Puffy and them was not trying to be spitters. Its way different. Plus it was known from the jump, they did not write the verse.

I don't think a hook is a big deal. I mean, a clique will exchange ideas and advice, I don't consider that ghostwriting or cheating. A full verse is where it gets real iffy, but in the industry I doubt that many emcees aren't relying on some help. I've seen labels offer emcees to just be ghostwriters.
As an aside not anyone in general, I gotta repeat that I doubt this does any long term damage to Drake. Remember that freestyle situation where he needed his phone and had that whole awkwardness...that blew over quicker than you can snap your fingers and I was pretty bugged out at that. You should be able to freestyle if you're an emcee, it doesn't have to be great, but you should be able to come off the dome even if you mix some premeds in to connect thoughts. Drake got past that no problem.

I think if Drake did not walk around like he cant be touched on the mic , it would be less of a deal. He literally says heads cant see him. If people found out that Ace Hood did not write his ****, No one would care.

But we all know that. The question is whether or not we believe he was writers and I personally don't because I find it hard to believe he had writers on Comeback Season and that was Drake at his lyrical best. Its not like Wayne who stunk, got good, lost Curren$y (an alleged ghostwriter), and stunk.

I see you on that. Can't claim to be the king if someone while riding someone else's work. Though I do wonder how many emcees aren't getting an assist some way, somehow. I bet it's a lot less than we'd like.

I agree with the hook thing. But, verses is a whole different story. For this reason, I will never have Lil Wayne as one of the greatest period. Gillie the Kid and others wrote for him. Anyone that has him in their top 5 or 10- I question if you really listen to hip hop.

Wait what? Turns out a bunch of my favorite rappers got weird stories.

Edit the vice link won't work bc there's a curse in it. Someone claimed Jay Elec wrote tracks for Untitled. I remembered hearing that one, but idk.

Writing for someone and helping someone write is different. One of them is something that happens so often its not worth mentioning. The other is having someone literally write whole verses. One person saying he's written a verse for Drake before could mean a littany of things and I doubt it means that he wrote every word in the verse or than he went and created a song from scratch that Drake took.
Plus since when is one dude considered on record? Its a single interview where he says he's basically written next to nothing. Dude could've had one or two lines make it into a song and he's saying he wrote for Drake.
Also as far as the greats go its well documented that Jay has had people help him write and that Nas has had writers help him before. It's different.
