Nah, we would have to trade up. Beside's Rich, I don't think there's anyone else I would put in the pot to get him

I simply see no ideal pick.

Luke Kennard - Really like his game, but SG isn't really a need, and he probably won't go past #12.

OG Anunoby SF/PF - reallyl ike his upside, but until he improves his outside shot, he's a bad fit here.

Donovan Mitchell - really not impressed. very limited upside IMO

Semi Ojeleye SF/PF - good fit, nice player, older.

Zach Collins - reminds me of Andrea Bargnani. Enough said.

Justin Jackson - nice player, would ne a lot of more excited about him if he added 30 pounds and played PF.

TJ Leaf - hate to admit it, but despite limited upside and astonishing whiteness, might be best fit from above options. Not very exciting but kinda safe, won't bust but won't be very good either probably. Skillset and character fit. Maybe if he can really become a high volume very good 3 point shooter could become a steal?

There's no "home run" type hit we can make IMO, trade should be on table.

Explain the very "limited" upside please. I would like to hear this.

Well, he's an undersized SG with an (below?) average outside shot, average feel, despite being athletic doesn't get to the line much, didn't really dominate college despite being almost 21 (15 PPG last year) - he's just the classic "ok" type player that will find it very hard to find a niche on the next level because there's nothing he really excels at.

I wouldn't even call him an undersized SG because he has a 6'10 wingspan. Mitchell improved his shot from his freshman year to his sophomore year tremendously so it's clearly there that he has the work ethic and the motor to get better. 15 ppg isn't that bad and he was the leading scoring for his team. When the PG of his team went out and he had to run point guard he was averaging nearly 20 points per game. His athletic ability, defense and offensive potential should be enough for high a upside. I'd rather have a player that can do a lot of things well than just good at one thing and crap at the rest.

Donovan Mitchell is the second coming of Avery Bradley to me.

Bradley is a very underrated athlete. He just doesn't play above the rim.

Mitchell is one of the fastest guards in this draft with a 40 inch vert I never said Bradley wasn't athletic but it's clear who is more athletic.

Would anyone be surprised if Mitchell ends up the 2nd best G in this class after Fultz?

Fultz won't be the best guard in this class.

1.OG
2.Kennard
3.Leaf

I get the need to dump TJ's contract...but I doubt there is anyone available at 10 that Heat would move up for.

Physicality is his biggest issue. Would be a nice fit next to Hassan.

He has only played 2 decent games his entire career and couldnt rebound even then.

twix2500 wrote:Skal was horrible in Kentucky. He was drafted on raw physical talent as a freshman in a bad draft. Wilson is not the physical talent as Skal and he been in college for 2 yrs. He only played well for 2 games. He is a horrible rebounder.

Looks like I was right. He's thought to go 19th now on DX after being thought to go at 35th by DX around that time. Knew he was special.

I disagree it's a much more favorable spot. There's a chance of the only players being available are Justin Jackson or John Collins, two players I have really soured on. 10 will definitely have a mix of Zach Collins/Mitchell/Kennard available. Much more likely Monk/DSJ/Markannen drop to 10 rather than 14 too.

You are right. The difference comes down to the Heat having their choice between 4-5 guys at 10 OR just taking the 1 guy left at 14.

At 14, there is the risk that no one the Heat covets is available....at 10, its a guarantee. So is moving TJ's contract worth that guarantee?
