Re: The 2022 NBA Draft Thread
Hows everyone feel about Johnny Davis? I feel like I like him more then most. If we fall out of the top 4 hes the guy Id want. I think he should be in the convo if we pick 4 in fact. Just a pure scorer and I like his attitude on the court.

I'm Team Orlando, thats why i come to the Orlando site. this place wouldnt be boring and would still survive without him. it was here before him, it will be here after him. I dont care if he posts here, i just wont engage with him anymore.
And-1
When player-X leaves the team, I wish them well and hope they now contribute to losses in Magic games. This site is all about discussions on winning and winnability for Orlando. Pointless wins are wins. That's good enough for me.
What I like about you and pepe is there is basic civility. I think the three of us have very differing views - about the current team, directions forward, etc., but this is just a place for us to waste time. No more and no less. Nobody cares about our views on anything.
Objectivity fosters civility after all.

Whole thing started by me saying that Jabari Smith can't put ball on the floor and has no post moves.
Your "comeback" wasn't even trying to add anything to context, you had snarky "if only every player was fully developed at 18 and didnt have any weaknesses, it would make drafting so much easier."
My reply was "This is one of dummest things people like to say and think here and by default always leads teams to draft half baked, untalented kids with good physical profiles and little to non basketball skills because of "potential"."
And that is moment when you pulled victim card and started crying that i called you dumb , when in reality it was you, not me, that started whole thing up and had zero desire to add to conversation and just wanted to start bickering for whatever reason.
I mean... you could have a legitimately valid opinion without being 100% hyperbolic with every post.
People have some spicy takes here (myself included) and I will probably die on a ton of hills defending those points. Most of the time you will just post paragraphs upon paragraphs trying to argue why an Orlando Magic player is justifiably trash. A lot of posters don't really want to read all that. Thats not to say you shouldnt post it, but it gets tiring.
We get that the magic aren't good now and were, even worse, mediocre with Vucevic, AG, and Fournier. That horse has been beaten to death repeatedly on this forum.
I'll never block you pepe because you provide some interesting points sometimes. Baby boy ezzzp was probably the closest but he was too fun to **** with.

I wasn't impressed with Daniels in the rookie all-star game.

Re: The 2022 NBA Draft Thread
I'm warming up to the idea of Jabari because he has a clearly defined skill set if Orlando chooses to draft a big. Probably more into Ivey as a starting SG or a solid Griffin on the wing should the Magic drop out of the top 4 somehow.
Not into the idea of Paolo or Chet being a focal point of Orlando's offense with the amount of questions surrounding their roles at the next level (spicy take?). I'll welcome them here regardless.

Re: The 2022 NBA Draft Thread
We need an Alpha SG
I dont see many in this draft
Jaden Ivey - Maybe
Shaedon Sharpe- I m Not a fan of his body language but he seems VERY VERY talented
Bennedict Mathurin , I like him a lot and think he is gonna be a great player but I wouldn't call him an Alpha
Jonathan Davis, I like how he attacks the paint but cant see him becoming an all star player

Bancheros lack of 3 ball is concerning but he does so much stuff well. I personally think he has good defensive potential too. Syracuses zone is annoying to play against.

Johnny Davis is the biggest alpha out of all those guys and you didn’t even list him

Same here. It's actually good for our kidneys to be pro-pepe a lot. But yeah, being pro=pepe is a pain at night..

Re: The 2022 NBA Draft Thread
I honestly still feel this class is on the weaker side....while i very much want one of the top 3 picks if we get screwed by the odds again i wouldn't be that upset....like would i be upset if we drop and select Matherin? Davis? Griffin? or hell maybe Sharpe? while it would suck, for me it wouldn't be the end of the world
**On another note is Dre still around? he used to post some amazingly insightful stuff....i remember he won poster of the year or something to that effect**

Re: The 2022 NBA Draft Thread
Iowa beat the ever living hell out of Northwestern today 112-76.
Keegan Murray: 26 PTS, 8 REB, 2 AST, 1 STL on 11-16 FG, 3-3 3PT, 1-1 FT.
His 3PT% is quietly up to .391 on 140 attempts.

The thing with Ezzzzp is most of his posts were blatantly personal and he rarely if ever brought actual basketball insight to the table. It's funny because I thought for a while he was permabanned from these boards, but every once in a while I'll catch him dropping an And-1 on a post. So he's still out there.. lurking

As for Pepe, we've had our many encounters on this board that have led to conversations in private messages as well. Most of those have started from me defending a certain young player on this team that he's deemed a finished product or not a starting level player. I do appreciate his perspectives at times, but I think at other times where our conversations veer left is when he goes through periods of being 100% negative about the team to the point where he looks like the board's heel or when he starts pulling up posting history like Ezzzp would do.
I've told him in the past that I think there is a healthier balance he can strike in his postings regarding the team. I thought he'd have been a lot more outspoken about Franz this season, but I hardly ever saw him posting about the top 5 rookie we drafted and instead only focusing on Suggs and how poorly he believes he's played.
That's when I start to worry he's playing more of a heel role or the board instigator. I think there is valuable insight he can bring that highlights occasional positives regarding the team rather than always posting stats that emphasize negatives.

Murray knows to play the game.
And Hammond was an Iowa game a few weeks ago.

Re: The 2022 NBA Draft Thread
Crazy that we're spending so much time addressing a particular poster here as if he were on the team and his opinions carried any more weight than the rest of us (all are zero weight)...Just do you. If somebody's not being blatantly personal or using profanity, it's got nothing to do with you - it's just him. If you can't manage that, you really should stay off of social media as discourse is the basic premise of the whole concept. It's not healthy for ANYONE to take things personally when anyone is talking about player value (or anything else for that matter). Mods will jump in if someone's out of line or simply trolling, but someone who clearly spends hours researching supporting evidence (BS or not) is not just trolling. The fact that there is, apparently, a system to block "foes" so you don't even have to see their posts makes it even more unnecessary for anyone to accept anything they don't want or can't handle. I'm on the opposite side of the whole "F**K your feelings" crap that took flight in the USA in the last few years, but this isn't that...Take a step back...be polite but just be you.
