It would probably be a Hield for Wiggins swap. Pacers get an athletic small forward who adds a little defense to their team. GSW gets off from the final three years of Wiggins contract, saves some money this year, and saves a potentially massive amount of money going forward becasue Hield is expiring.

Tough to see GSW doing it just for a salary dump tho.

Oh shoot, we're running out Trade/Free thread. Before the next one opens, I'm gonna go with...

Simone Fontecchio as the big wing that gets picked up for TPE. Not my first choice, but the Danny/Brad connection helps get the deal done.

If not Simone, since Washington and Charlotte are big sellers, maybe Delon Wright, Corey Kispert or Nick Richards.

Just spitballin'. Most of the guys I like probably won't move, or we'll be outbid.

Lol, that would make the bucks worse again, imo.

Portis saves their ass in so many games, imo.

Would actually low key love to have Portis here if it was at all possible.

I could be wrong, but My guess is Brad likes/values Hauser and PP too much to consider both in a trade.

Brad just traded Smart, Rob, Grant and Malcolm in the same offseason.

I don't think he would have a problem trading Pritchard and Hauser.

Because he got better value in return. All I am saying is He may not want to trade 2 valuable role Players plus picks for 1 better role player

Think Kris Dunn is also a good option if they are not interested/outbid for Caruso

Caruso is the only true, no-brainer needle mover. I'd go as far as #30, their 2024 2nd back, and lightly protected 2026.

A fair statement but one could argue that Caruso is significantly better than a combo of Hauser/ Pritchard. He can fill both roles plus add really solid D.

Caruso is definitely a step above Payton. He's a vastly better defender, he's a much more efficient scorer, including from 3 on the same number of attempts. He's a natural role player who isn't going to try to do too much, which is perfect on a team that has so much high-end talent. Add him and we move from having the best top 6 in the league to the best top 7. With Hauser rounding out the top 8, that playoff rotation is absolutely elite.

Plus Caruso has one year left, so if it works out we can basically run the whole team back. If for whatever reason Jrue bails on us, Caruso can step in and keep us from taking a major step back in terms of talent.

BOS: Alex Caruso, Andre Drummond and Torrey Craig

CHI: BOS '24 1st, BOS '26 1st, CHI '24 2nd, Payton Pritchard, Dalano Banton, Svi Mykhailiuk and Lamar Stevens

Caruso replaces Pritchard in the rotation. Drummond shores up the frontcourt (even if he doesn't play any minutes ahead of Kornet). Craig is wing depth that won't realistically see the floor.

Is it an overpayment? Probably. Does it make us significantly better? Absolutely.

Seems like they might have a hard time saying no to that. An overpay by a bit. Maybe make that 26 pick a swap a bit further out.

One you’d have to think about from the Bulls side, but I don’t see it as a slam dunk. I’d say not enough end of the day.

The players coming back look to be salary filler level except for PP.

Craig was playing well for us before he got hurt, so I could def. see him getting time if he’s healthy. Before that injury, I actually thought he’d be a perfect stand alone target for a team like Boston given its lack of significant tradable salaries. Solid vet who can shoot, play some decent d, will fit in, minimum salary.

Drummond’s cheap and getting all sorts of interest, so he’s easily worth the 2nd rounder by himself, probably multiple. Great backup for KP. Check out his game logs late Dec/early Jan when Vucebrick was out.

PP himself doesn’t get me excited. His career numbers are relatively flat across the board. That’s while getting the benefit of lesser attention, and better looks playing with great teammates. We already have Ayo/Jevon Carter who can play that small guard with a modest salary role. Carter’s actually a great example of how a guy will look much worse once you separate him from a great team. Anyway, PP’s pretty pointless for us, so he’d have to go to a 3rd team.

For me personally, I think if you can flip PP for an asset to the Bulls, and take Craig and Drummond out, I’d bite. Not all 1sts are created equal, and Boston’s very end of the supposedly weak 2024 class doesn’t provide that much value.

It certainly is a false statement and keep in mind. I am someone who actually wants caruso. But not to the point of an overpay.

If Wiggins can get back to the form he was in when they beat us for the chip the starting 5 of Halliburton/Nesmith/Wiggins/Siakam/Turner is going to be hard to beat for any team.

Caruso is the dream.

But I'd also say Olynyk and Beef Stew are pretty much guaranteed needle movers, if Brad can somehow pull off a 4 for 1 or 5 for 1 mid-season trade..
Nothing wrong with having a different opinion - as long as it's done respectfully. It'd be lame if we all agreed on everything :)

I gave some unsolicited thoughts a little bit above, but all our discussions are a moot point. We have perhaps the worst FO in the association. They will hold AC until he’s hurt, or they’ll resign him to a market level deal and then he’ll get hurt. Zero recognition that he’s on peak value on his current bargain deal, and our team is going nowhere.

Would be really cool to see him go to Boston and compete for a non-bubble ring and get the attention his play deserves.

If the Celtics had a three guard rotation of Holiday, White and Caruso then I got two words for opposing teams offense - Good Luck!
