Read a bunch that the publics view on Simmons isn't the same as top nba execs. Saying basically they still view him pretty highly.

And I suspect that's because he remains a physical freak of nature who can put fans in the seats and sell team merchandise with occasional dazzling plays, but that doesn't mean they view him as an integral piece of a championship contender. I don't think he'll garner in trade anywhere near what he would have two years ago for example.

For a number of franchises, the fact that he is young, an All-Star and under team control for the next four years is invaluable. There are plenty of teams that even with cap room, have difficulties attracting free agents for long tern deals. The contract solves this problem.

If I was a philly fan this is what I would be hoping for.

You’re better off with Simmons facilitating from the 4 and having a 3 and d chucker like Dennis Schroeder as your point guard.

Doesn't matter what position Ben plays. Offensively his man will always sag off in the paint and double. Switching him from PG to PF doesn't magically change what he can do.

Yea... I don't really understand it either. It doesn't really matter where you slot him on offense... the same issues are going to present themselves. The same strengths will as well. However, it's not like you're going to slot Simmons at the 4 and he's all the sudden going to turn into some Jokic level PF. Taking the ball out of Simmons hands will present the same issue it always has.

Yeah not sure why people think he should go to PF, and if that doesn't work go to C. Ben at C and Jo at PF, lol!

Ben at PF, or C would still let a man cheat off of you. He is a point forward but he needs to be on another team to excel. Not on a team where your best player is a low post beast. It would have worked if our three guards were elite shooters, and one of them was a perimeter creator who averaged over 20 ppg, but unfortunately we dealt that player so that ship has sailed and Ben is our only trade chip. We also can not wait till the start of the season because the entire city is negative towards him and the slightest negative feedback will set him off and he'll go back into a shell. Can't risk his value getting even lower than it already is.

Some GM value Simmons highly, but only because he is a flashy player in Regular Season (all flash with no substance of course) so that he will generate more money, not because of his ability to be a winning player. Majority of people are dumb and dont know much about basketball, this is a fact.

The issue is also Ben has an horrible touch around the rim so. So unless he's getting strong to the rim he's kind of average at the 4 as well

The issue shoting is kind of understandable but not working on your finishing it's just nuts.
