Using March Madness as your basis to draft prospects causes teams to draft guys like Joe Alexander in the lottery. You need to watch these kids for the whole year to get a good grasp on them, hell, sometimes you need to go back to HS to see them play because of so many 1 and dones.

With the upcoming lockout...no one is going to declare except Luke Jacksons...

Wow, you jumped to a distant conclusion on that one, Reignman. His statement in no way implies your assumption.

I'd be hesitant to draft another PF... it's so hard to build around them, they're almost always going to turn into complementary pieces. If Jones was on the board I'd lean towards Irving.

Barnes
Irving

If we get one of these two, I'll buy season tickets for the next 5 years.

why no love around here for Selby? seems like a great combo guard that has point guard skills, can guard the 1, and will thrive in transition. is he not a better prospect than Irving?

Any of Barnes, Jones, Irving or Knight and I'm a very happy man. Who knows what I'll be saying closer to the draft, but for now those are the guys I'm really intrigued by.

Irving's point guard skills are obviously better and a great combo guard can't lead the team the way a great point guard can.

Happier if we traded our 1st for Rubio!
Then try to improve as much as possible this season and try to land Gasol as a free agent.

I have the Sports Package on Rogers so I will be watching a lot of College Ball this year.

My Draft board and players I will be following the most going into the season.

1. Perry Jones - Baby Durant
2. Harrison Barnes - Great all around player
3. Kyrie Irving - Best PG in the draft
4. Josh Selby - Love this guys game not sure what position he plays in the pro's
5. Fab Melo - Natural Center expect him to move up the draft boards

Apart from them both being 6'10 and lanky, how exactly are Durant and Jones similar?

Not sure how much you've seen of Perry Jones but he's 6'11 and can handle the ball like a guard,
has a good mid range game and can shoot the 3. He's also put on a lot of muscle since High
school. His skill set with his size is very intriguing and looks like a poor mans Durant or baby
Durant. He might play some PF in College but in the pro's I see him as a natural 3.
Durant might be the better scorer and shooter but I see Jones being the better rebounder
and defender. I really like Jones upside as a big time defender in the NBA. Hes a guy I would
want to guard the Lebrons, Durants, Pierces ect of the NBA on my team.

I wish he went to a better school then Baylor but I think he has the potential to be a true
Franchise player. It will be interesting to see if he can overtake Barnes as the number 1 pick.

I'm hearing that scouts are projecting him as an NBA SF. Now we know these things change and at his height PF seems to be more ideal but if he does look a like a SF then I'd be intrigued. Either way, if he's BPA you still have to take him or trade down.

draftexpress just jumped Irving up to #3. makes sense for the best PG to go pretty high in a draft starting to look pretty darn shallow.

top 7 looks ok for us. beyond there's just more forwards and wings that we don't really need.
