I don't think he's THAT important but it does bring up the fact that the Heat are really thin. If such an injury hit one of the big three, they are toast. If it hits 2, this team is no better than the Knicks.
He's still a very good shooter, which is what he's there for, and to grab a couple boards here and there. The remaining outside shooters are either undersized or just horrid defensively. As I said before, Miller is like Rondo for the Celts (or perhaps Robinson/Davis this past year), he was their X Factor, even after the big 3 are guarded, there's still a chance he's open someone to stick a dagger 3.
Can they win without him? Absolutely. But someone who can consistently score 10-15 points, shoot 50% from three, 80% from the line, grab 6 boards and dish out 3-4 assists is nothing to scoff at. That's essentially adding a grittier, better shooting Turkoglu to a big 3.
