I believe that sign and trade is no longer on the table. Not legal. Its either match and keep him or let him go.

Thanks I remember that coming up and couldn't recall what they decided. In the old days, since Asik hasn't actually signed the offer yet, they'd have over a week to work out a trade.

Actually I believe that is still the case, he has not signed the offer sheet so a S&T can still be worked out between the Bulls and the Rockets before July 11th, All trades or FA signings can happen on July 11th.

That's exactly what I'm thinking. It's not all that bad, as it's essentially, 5, 5, and 15.

Once it's the contract is on the killer third year, you use him as an expiring.
