I see this type of thread pop up so many time? As NBA fans are so many of you really unaware of the draftexpress player measurements?

Re: Real Heights of NBA Players
Chris Bosh is one of the few guys that was listed in his sock height forever. I just remember Dwight was 6'9 in socks and Chris Bosh was 6'10 in socks, but Dwight was listed at 6'11 and Bosh at 6'10.
Michael Beasley is listed at 6'10 at a lot of places still, and measured at 6'7. Blake Griffin is 6'8, and very short arms, so not even a "tall" 6'8, and he still gets listed at 6'10.

Knew Love was a little short, that was one knock on him coming out of college. I think Griff is a little short too 6'8..
I met Barkley a ways back and actually hung out for a minute and talked and he did not seem tall at all. I'm 6'2" and my brother is 6'5" and he did not feel as tall as my brother or at least barely that. It really shocked me at the time. Where as Shaq and David Robinson, I did not even come to their shoulders. I felt like a little kid next to Shaq. That same year I met Sprewell who also seemed barely 6'3 or 6'4, but Grant Hill seemed very tall, legit 6'9" and Penny Hardaway seemed very tall too 6'7-8.
Met Metta last year and Kobe the year before and they both seemed about the same to me and not super tall, both felt 6'6"-6'7"
Varajeo and Ilgauskas walked right by me when I was on the elliptical which puts me like a foot off the ground and I was eye level with them. Varajeo seemed barely shorter then Ilgauskas and both seemed huge.
Played against Andre Miller in college at the gym a couple times and he was almost exactly my size, maybe a tiny bit taller.
Ty Lawson is definitely shorter then I am. Corey Brewer seemed like he was barley 6'4' while McGee definitely felt giant and legit 7'ft.
It's interesting, I think build can definitely play tricks on your mind, as well as angle and distance when you see or stand next to someone. Barkley was the one that shocked me the most though because of how good he was in the post and rebounding. Brewer similarly, listed as taller, skinny looks taller, definitely did not seem like it up close.
Actual height always fascinates me. Though wingspan and shoulder height can affect how a guy looks and his abilities too.
Well theres no way Kobe is taller than Barkley or Grant Hill having 5 inches on him so...I don't know what to tell ya.

Either through your own observation(real life or whatever) or self admissions.
Barkley( 6-4 and 3/4) basically 6-5. Stated in his book.
Nash: 6-1
CP3: 5-11(DraftExpress PreDraft camp measurement)
Kobe and Jordan: 6-5, both in comparison to Barkley and from people who have met them.
JJ Barea: 5-10.
I think Nash is 6 ft or 5'11ish. Unless Rondo isn't 6'1 which is certainley a possibility. Went to a suns-celtics game 2 years ago and Nash is definitely a bit shorter than Rondo.

Lopez has grown since measured. He's about an inch shorter than Hibbert and noticeably taller than pretty much every center I've seen him match up with including Chandler by at least one inch. If I had to guess he's over 7'1" (in shoes)

Well brook lopez did measure 7'0.5" in shoes so that's not too far off but you have to take into account hair. Which often makes a player look taller than they really are.
You can see here on first glance he may appear taller than shaq but so much of that is just his hair and he's actually shorter.

Seeing as most nba players have fades even a little hair difference can make an impact.

Yes i know i was just giving an example. Players of near height standing next to each other, if one player is bald or has a fade they will often look shorter next to a player with even a little more hair.

I think Kobe could easily be taller then Chuck but Grant having 5 on him does seem odd. I am saying though that perception does skew things a lot and he just did not seem very tall. I'd say him being 6'5-6ish and Kobe 6'6-7ish and Grant 6'8-9ish is probably pretty close to accurate. It's still impressive at that size that he was that good of a PF.
That police photo though man, I just don't think there is any way he was 6'8. It's hard to gauge when you are within a few inches of someone and your eye level is close, the angle is easy to miss, but at that difference it becomes more obvious. Being around my brother my whole like I can usually tell if somone is taller then about 6'6' pretty easy. Kobe and Metta were borderline, definitely could have been a bit more, Chuch just didn't. He even put his arm around me for a sec laughing at his joke and I remember it just feeling like he wasn't much bigger then me and it was odd. Granted this is like 12 years ago or so now so my memory could be off

Re: Real Heights of NBA Players
While draftexpress measurements are useful, I think people forget that these guys can still grow an inch or 2 after that, especially at 19-20 yrs old.
On the opposite of most people, Durant definitely downplays how tall he is:

Towers over LeBron, which looks pretty ridiculous, and pretty much the same height as blake and love. I'd say he's easily 6'10".

Re: Real Heights of NBA Players
While it's true people can grow after 19-20 it's quite rare. Most players do correlate quite well to their pre-drafted heights.
While i do think it's possible that durant has grown an inch. keep in mind he chose to be listed by his barefoot 6'9" height. Meaning that he will always look taller next to other "6 foot 9" or even 6'10" players who are really 6'7.5"-6'8.5" barefoot.

So he's 6'8"? I've NEVER heard that before. Only anywhere from 6-4 to 6'7.

Lin 6'3" barefeet - Rose listed as 6'3"

Also Lin dwarfs Rondo, so he can't be over 6 feet either - more like 5'10" - 5'11"....

Always thought this photo was interesting based on how much people shrink as they age.
