How about if they actually spoke Albanian? What language were they speaking in the movie? Sounded like a Russian dialect to me. It certainly was not shqipe.

I always assumed their dialect was just much different from my Albanian. My dialect is from Dibra e Madhe, while Tropojë is way up on the north border of Albania, which is a HUGE difference.

They could be speaking Albanian just with a different dialect. I do not know for sure.

Those actors were certainty Russian or Slavic, not Albanian, which is probably why the language sounded so different.

I understood a couple of the Albanian phrases from the movie.

Really? Ok, maybe Im wrong. My dad is from Shkoder which is north and what they spoke in the movie sounded nothing like what my dad speaks.
