Plus we have to at least show that were trying to get better for the season ticket holders. 28-120 or whatever with the promise of next years draft will only take you so far as a franchise

Yeah I agree but getting an All-Star in the next years draft would be worth it. We already made the right coaching moves, Got a descent HC, Got Ewing, Mark Price, Got a very promising draft pick (imo), and are players have been progressing well.

Al Jefferson would agree if Eric Gordon was here, plus Kemba, no?

Kemba Walker/Sessions
Eric Gordon/Henderson
Michael Kidd-Gilchrist/Taylor
Cody Zeller/McRoberts
Al Jefferson/Biyombo

Dawg, that looks like a 8th seed or 9th seed in the East next season... i think the Bobcats should sign him, **** tanking. it's a shame when the team is trying to get better, and the fans want them to continue tanking for a draft pick, lol. We aint even seen these players play for their college teams yet, and people are hoping the team tanks to get them. I just dont get it, if Al Jefferson agrees to come to the Bobcats, they should sign him, without thinking and if they can get Eric Gordon, get him too!

If we do make this signing were going to get blasted by the media, unfortunately.

Well consider half the Eastern Conference is tanking for this draft. I would say our timing is perfect. They're all gutting their rosters and putting themselves into 3-5 year rebuild periods. So we could be a young contender starting this season and lasting at least 5 years. The only guy close to aging out would be Jefferson and he's 28. Look at Duncan at 37, nearly a decade older. Plus we would still have our DET pick which could give us another young center should Biyombo not pan out.

Tell that to fans who keep going to the games to watch the team get their ass kicked.

I don't think Jefferson would make the Bobcats a playoff team. They still wouldn't be great, but they do need to improve the team somehow. You don't want to make Clifford another lame duck hire.

I don't either, what I'm saying though is he could potentially get us out of the top 10 for the next years draft. Everyone knows what next years draft is going to be like, and I just don't know if its worth it really and it would be typical of us to start bringing pretty good players in too early, while the best draft in the last 4 years is around the corner.

I don't know, I still think:

Walker/Sessions
Henderson/Gordon
Kidd-Gilchrist/Taylor
Zeller/Some FA
Jefferson/Biyombo/Haywood

is a bottom 10 team. It would just be a lot more competitive. They just can't have another season like the last two, where body language, locker room morale and fan interest at the game was so low. You have to give people something to cheer for.

They might not have a choice with the way they've lost so much money, so many games and so many fans already. As the Hornets they have to be more like the Hornets the city fell in love with and less like the Bobcats they abandoned like a red-headed step child.

If our pick lands out of the top 10 it goes to Chicago. I think we would go from 21 wins to 32 or so and keep our pick, maybe.

I don't know I kind of like the idea of the Hornets treating the home crowd to a severe beating of the tanking Celtics and the unraveling Lakers to name a few.

I want more than Al Jefferson. I want Eric Gordon too!

We can go from laughingstock to bully with all these teams tanking.

And be YOUNG.

Exactly. With the Hornets rebrand next season, you can't trot out a team of losers again next season. I think fans can handle the losing, but they can't handle seeing a team getting blown out every other night at TWC.

If they're competitive and making teams work, then I think they'll be fine. At least that will show there's something to look forward to for next season.

Eric Gordon played on Space jam with Michael Jordon. Anybody know if they still have a close relationship?

I'm kind of worried about his health, Gordon aint played a full season ever, i dont think. lol, I would still take a chance on him though, when he's playing he can play!

Doesn't that seem counter productive to you? I feel like if you pull the trigger too soon on a rebuild you get stuck where the Bobcats were a few years ago. Barely making the playoffs and getting our asses kicked everytime. I'd much rather have another bad season and then start making a dive into free agency after our pick, than prematurely trying to get our team contending again all because people might get mad. I feel like this draft coming up will be like the '03 draft and I would really hate it if we missed out on some All-Star caliber players.

Another option is O.J. Mayo but his price tag is a mystery and it might not work with our budget if Al Jefferson signs. If Al signs we can still add a go-to scorer like Eric Gordon if were were able to move Ben Gordon's expiring for him plus the POR pick.

I dunno though, maybe there's some way to fit Al Jefferson + Mayo + keep the POR pick and not worry about injury to Gordon.

We didn't get blown out every game, I am assuming you count a blow out game by 20 or more points right? In that case that happened a total of 14 times this year. Yes I counted. Last year you can see the improvement with a lot of our games being within 10 points which is a huge step from the previous year.. I hate when people only see wins and losses as well, I understand when it boils down to it, it is the most important stat there is , but when you're rebuilding a team you have to look past that and look at your teams individual performances on a nightly basis. We had a hell of a year compared to last year and yes I think 14 games of 20 or more point blowouts are way too much, but it will get less with time. The fans need to understand that really and if they can't then they really don't understand the concept of what the term rebuilding means. I say this with absolutely zero animosity towards anyone who disagrees with me I'm just giving my own 2 cents. I realize that could've come off as hateful.

If we are going to be serious and try to turn this thing around this offseason then I am onboard. Its encouraging that we are actually talking about pursuing players this early in the process. I feel like the last two years we waited until the end and took the scraps of what was left over.

I am loving the fact we are making a public appeal to land Al Jefferson and I hope to see this type of aggressiveness to continue.

Lord Bonnell is annoying. Acting on twitter like Jefferson is 36 years old. "Not sure how much tread he has left". Guy averaged 18/9 and is still just 28. People think because he came out of highschool that he's soon washed up. So ridiculous.

I counted 19 games by 20 or more. I think fans know that losing is eventually going to turn into winning one day, but after the past two seasons, and 28 wins in 148 games, they owe the fans a little more than being content with blatant tanking.

Plus tanking doesnt guarantee results, otherwise Anthony Davis would be in uniform.

Especially as Jefferson's game is more craft moves than athleticism, he should have a decent length career.

Am I the only one who would start Biz with Jefferson?
Biz would defend the better post player and Zeller would come off the bench.
