u failed 2 add Boozer contract .... The totals are closer than u suggest.... And the lineup wit Melo in it makes bulls better team

1. This is a discussion of the trios.

2. Boozer would add the same amount to either team.

Yeah, no.

Rose > Chalmers
Butler < Wade
Anthony <<< LeBron
Gibson > Haslem
Asik < Bosh

Who's to say the Butler would have emerged with Carmelo on the team.

And seeing as Butler wasn't in the league when the trade was proposed, it's a moot point.

Except Butler is looked at by the FO as a 2 and considering he was a 1st round pick, he would have to "emerge" at some point. Having Rose and Melo would actually have given him more playing opportunities since he wouldn't have been as highly relied upon.

Unless you are trying to use Deng's injury proneness to your advantage in which case I would have to LOL

Only one small problem, Carmelo didn't want to come here. He was using the Bulls as leverage to get to the Knicks. Why did he not agree to sign an extension if traded to the Nets who everybody knew was moving to Brooklyn but signed one immediately when traded to New York. Another thing is Carmelo hasn't shown he can mesh with another capable scorer. He and Amare don't play well together and it directly correlates to Anthony having to the ball in his hands to be effective. He uses up so much of the offense that it leaves other players in particular Amare frozen out.
Losing to get high draft picks and hoping they turn into franchise players is not some next level, genius move. That's what teams want to happen in any rebuild/tank or whatever you want to market it as.

It may have been 5/5/14 instead of 8/8/8, but it's impossible to say what Asik's contract would have been when dealing in hypothetical.

His Houston contract counts 8/8/8 against the cap but they actually pay him 5/5/14.

Seeing as Amar'e, Lin, and others got worse playing with Carmelo, I doubt it.

Hell the Bulls probably would have traded the pick (30th) in the Carmelo trade.

That's the problem with revisionist history.

It may have been a different contract offered by the Bulls if we had Anthony. It may have been 5/5/14 or something different. Impossible to say.

never mind. I forgot. Scoring is on the defensive side of the ball. Or since he isn't a LeBron-like passer he doesn't fit any offense at all and wouldn't do anything playing with Rose since the Knicks didn't even finish top 3 in offensive efficiency or anyhting. He doesn't have LeBron like passing so he cant fit with Rose or on the Bulls with their bad offense since the Knicks didn't finish 3rd in offensive efficiency

you guys do realize asik was a relatively untested rookie 2nd round pick when melo was on the market, right? trading noah and deng for melo was a much bigger risk at the time
