Waiters is ass. Undersized, fat and a low percentage scorer.

Cavs sucks at drafting. They could of had Barnes or Drummond instead.

They can ask for whatever they want. We better not have entertained them.

seriously, they probably heard the rumors that we had shump on the block and said would you be interested.

If Mills response wasn't an immediate hang up we have problems.

The Cleveland Cavaliers are actively shopping second-year shooting guard Dion Waiters, according to sources with knowledge of the situation.

Three teams the Cavaliers are known to have spoken with are the New York Knicks, Chicago Bulls and Philadelphia 76ers, the sources said. It is believed they have reached out to other clubs as well.

Waiters, whom the Cavaliers drafted with the No. 4 pick in 2012, has a contentious relationship with several of his teammates, including star point guard Kyrie Irving, and sources say he is open to being traded. In fact, while Waiters has not demanded a trade, he brought up the subject in a three-hour meeting last week with coach Mike Brown and general manager Chris Grant, according to sources.

The Cavaliers are looking to shake things up after their surprisingly disappointing 4-10 start. Part of their problem has been the dysfunction in their locker room. The 6-foot-4 guard got into an altercation with teammate Tristan Thompson during a players-only meeting after a 29-point loss to Minnesota on Nov. 13, sources said.

Sources described the following account:

Irving called the meeting after the game and every player spoke. When Waiters was given the floor, he criticized Thompson and Irving, accusing them of playing "buddy ball'' and often refusing to pass to him. Thompson took umbrage with Waiters' words and went back at him verbally. The two confronted each other but teammates intervened before it could escalate into a fight. However, the two guards are not close. Waiters believes the Cavaliers have a double standard when it comes to Irving, sources said. He feels that while Irving is allowed to get away with loafing defensively, making turnovers and taking bad shots, he is taken out of the game for such things. Waiters has shared his views with Brown and Grant.

Waiters is slumping after his promising rookie season -- both his scoring and shooting percentage have dropped this season.

The obvious target for the Knicks would be Iman Shumpert, whom the Knicks have talked about trading. But at present, the Knicks are not interested, a source said.

The Cavs are interested in the Bulls' Luol Deng, who could become available now that Derrick Rose is out for the season.

I like the idea a lot but I'm not sure that he provides what we really need right now. Unless we're dumping JR and Shump in the deal I don't think we have a fit.

Trading Melo is a fantasy, Dolan doesn't have the balls to do another full rebuild.

It seems, once again, that the Knicks value Shumpert more than many believe.

We have consistently kept him out of many scenarios that would have been questionable value wise

Clippers are not trading Griffin. Put your trade on their board and prove me wrong.

These rumors would be so much better if we were shopping JR instead of Shump. But we can't even trade that clown yet.

Well since you asked so nicely for a clarification, we clearly have a logjam at shooting guard. Waiters only makes sense if we're dumping one of ours in the deal, Shump being the obvious trade target. I'm not against making the deal at all for Shump but the Cavs should take another contract back in the deal. This can be a buy-low situation for a guy who had a promising rookie year but is clashing with his coach.

People were suggesting Melo in some megadeal on Page 1 and I'm saying that there's no way we're doing that under any scenario. Even if we don't win another game all season Dolan isn't going to let that trade happen.

but that makes no sense... the knicks front office hates him... or havent you seen his poor play which is obviously a result of him feeling unwanted by the organization...

Adding another low efficiency/high volume scorer to the mix.

And I think that Waiters has a higher ceiling as a scorer and proved in college that he can play defense in a zone scheme. He's not the lockdown defender that Shump is, but his offensive upside is higher and he can be the presence spacing the floor we need around Melo. If Shump is as good as gone, there are worse targets to trade for.

Why would a worse three point shooter than Iman spread the floor better than Iman?

Maybe Waiters can punch JR Spliff for getting preferential treatment from the organization, wake up Stevie.
