I have no idea why Lebron even leaves Miami where he has warm weather, tax advantages, and Pa Riley.

The only reason to leave Miami is to go home, doubt he leaves to come to the Raptors.

Also, he's already regarded as one of the top players of all-time or on that path, why wouldn't he want to keep winning titles in MIami and maybe surpass Jordan?

Unless he thinks that team is done because of the cap situation, and has to be broken up. Since Miami seems unlikely to move Wade, that creates problems as Wade continues to break down.

Even with Wade breaking down they are far superior to anything Toronto has and they have one of the best GM's in the history of the NBA, they have the location, weather, tax situation. He's still got Chris Bosh and plenty of support and one trade of Wade and suddenly they are right there at the very top. The best player in the world is going to leave that situation for Toronto?

James would be stupid not to join Raps. Plenty of young players who are getting into their prime. DeRozan, Lowry, JV, Ross, Amir, 2Pat and coach who is great defense specialist. Ownership that is willing to pay the price. And last, but not least - awesome fans and city. He could crown him self King of Canada. Imo, he would be crazy to join cavs. A franchise who had him for 7 years and was not been able to surround him with winners. A franchise who in just few years had multiple top 4 picks, but is still a lotery team. If he would manage to bring his sidekick Bosh for a discount price - **** would be epic. I bet, veterans would follow him all the way to Toronto. I think, he don't care about any of those friendships. He dumped all his friends in CLE with out saying good bye. For a couple of rings he would do the same with MIA.

I don't think he'll leave, and personally I'd rather have KD or find a way to win rings without Lebron, but there's always the Canada aspect. He'd become somewhat of a Canadian hero and have basketball fans from the whole country supporting him. It would also be a drastic change to history as the Raptors may out of nowhere start winning multiple championships.

As I said in the KD to TO thread, its impossible to accomplish big things if you cant think big. I highly doubt LB woudl even consider us, but do I think its impossible? Absolutely not, Toronto is f-ing awesome. Build a winning culture with dedicated management that people trust, who knows? As Bradley said when being interview about why Toronto "I knew within 2 seconds of talking to Leiweke and the management team that I would be signing in Toronto".

It's one think for Lieweke to say we're gonna act like a big market and go after Lebron, it's entirely different for Butch to state Lebron would consider Toronto. Is it impossible? No, anything is possible but we're responding to Butch saying Lebron would consider Toronto not Lieweky or MLSE saying we'll go get the best.

Even if Miami doesn't win this year, he's won two titles with his friends in one of the best markets, what does Toronto sell him on? Why would he consider Toronto over Miami or Cleveland? Since you seem to be supporting this notion why don't you lay out some realistic scenarios in comparison to the two primary markets he would consider.

Toronto is a WORLD CLASS city, Miami is not. Its south beach. People evolve out of the 'fan fair' of a south beach lifestyle.

Perhaps the appeal of national reach. He will always be 'the guy' in the US, now he can be 'the guy' for 2 countries.

Perhaps their is some appeal to working with Masai on his African basketball initiatives, becoming the face of some sort of charitable program that gets global appeal and affects an entire continent.

Does a youthful core of Demar / JV / Amir etc become more appealing than aging core in Miami? Does he see the potential for more rings over the next 5 years here in Toronto, or in Miami?

Does being owned by a media empire offer other revenue stream opportunities that none of us are even thinking of?

Again, I am not hear saying LBJ will sign in Toronto, nor am I saying that any / all of these reasons are reason enough for him to do it. Every point is debatable, obviously. LBJ will likely be focused on Miami or Cleveland, obviously. Toronto would be a super long shot, obviously. But our mentality of 'we're not good enough. We're not appealing enough.' I just don't buy, personally.

I think getting KD is more realistic than LeBron James. If OKC don't win a championship before KD contract ends, then I wouldn't be surprised if KD decides to leave them and go somewhere else.
