In order for Nash to be moved for capspace it would have to include Randle. No team is going to eat Nash's salary without good incentives.

TOR has already floated the idea of trading Salmons, so would make sense (as I have written many times over the past few months) to trade him for Nash for marketing/PR purposes. The extending of QO to Patterson and Vasquez enhances this possibility as TOR is clearly not angling for cap space this year. Trade for Nash's farewell season, sell a million jerseys, pack home games, and doesn't really cost you anything. Hope this is on Mitch's radar bc only 1+ day left as Salmons must be waived by Monday.

Salmons has gone ^ so it should change such thinking.

I would not be in favor to trade your prized rookie in a salary dump. Randle is not Beasley.

Big opportunity missed for Mitch, unless TOR is irrationally high on Williams. league average PER last two years, and declining numbers since his high in 2011-12 season. guess the deal isn't official yet, but not sure why TOR would prefer him over Nash, given the significant difference off the court and bigger upside on the court if Nash can stay healthy. guess this might just be a trade for another Brazilian. wonder what connection TOR has with Brazil? seems rather odd.

only Nash TPE left is GS but with the Livingston signing, no need for a PG. Looks like we are stuck with him.

Boston still has the Pierce TPE, but they don't need a PG either. Regardless though, if Nash is dealt he's likely retiring. So, someone could still do it purely for savings.

yeah, I don't count BOS because they aren't doing LAL any favors. He won't retire, regardless of what is commonly reported. he wants the cash, remember the video?

In that same video, and the preceding one, he talked about how he won't leave his kids again. I'm not sure what his ultimate deal will be. I don't think we are going to find out though, because I think he stays in LA and comes off the books at the end of the year.

yeah, everyone mentions the kids. let's get real. 10M for a couple of months away from the kids is no big deal.

He doesn't really need the money. Word is that he was smart with his money over his career. And it is far more than a couple of months. You are talking late September through late April at the least. If he goes to a playoff team, even longer. So, you are talking 7-8 months. I know I don't want to be away from my family that long. But no one is offering me almost 10 million either. And I certainly don't have that much in the bank!

doesn't matter how much you have. it is always a benefit/cost analysis. in this case 10M for less than 8 months away from kids has to be worth it. Not like he can't see them on West coast trips and holidays.

I am pretty sure we don't qualify for the MLE and the BAE. We only have the caproom exception along with Blake's TPE.

We don't know how the Lin deal went down exactly, or the timing of the signing of Hill and Young. So, I'm going to hold on removing them for the moment.
