He seems to have a better and more consistent shot than dragic did when we drafted him.

So in this draft there was a Brazillian Kevin Durant, Somoan LeBron James and now a Serbian Kobe Bryant?

And then there's Wiggins, Parker, Embiid...

No.
This draft gave us new LBJ/TMG (Wiggins), new Olajuwon (Embiid) and new Z-Bo (Randle) + Brazilian Kevin Durant, Somoan LeBron James and Serbian Kobe Bryant. :D
Best draft class ever, and way greater than 1996th one. :banghead:

Hey guys, Partizan Belgrade and Bogdan fan here :)
I just want to tell you my insight on him as a player and person, because he is my childhood friend and my favourite player on my favourite team. As you can see i am heavily subjective, but i will try to be as objective as i can. :)

You probably watched draft express video and you know his strenghts and weaknesses but ill try to give my insight.

Strengths:

1. Shooting. He is great shooter from deep range, has good form and when he gets going he is extremly difficult to stop. He can shoot from anywhere and the best thing is he isnt one dimensional. He can run of screens, spot ups, pull ups, isos... Added a nice mid range game this season. Very strong release as you can see from video.
Spoiler:

2. Playmaking. Our team had many injuries this season on mostly backcourt players and when Leo Westermann our starting PG went down, we didnt have any playmakers on the team, so we forced Bogdan to play pg and suprisingly he did a good job distributing the ball. No way can he be a nba pg, but he can be a secondary ball handler or a 6th man ala Manu.

3. Size. You can read from draftexpress 6'6' with 6'11' wingspan and solid (not great) athleticism.

4. Clutchness. He tends to play very good in big games and make difficult shots. Over 30 ppg in Serbian league finals, big game vs Cska Moscow (Euroleague powerhouse) and game winner vs EL champions Maccabi TA. Also little cocky in a good way.

Now for not so fun part :)

Weaknesses:

1. Shot selection. Sometimes he forces bad shots, misses shots in a row when he wont stop shooting. It can get frustrating to watch. Also can get into tunnel vision mode when he ignores his teammates and only sees basket (this probably has to be, with so many injuries on our team he was one and only option for most of the season). Can make stupid turnovers.

2. Effort on D. He has potential to be a great deffensive player with size and instincts but sometimes he just looks disinterested to play hard on D. He likes to save his energy for offense where he would be asked to create for himself and others.

3. Finishing at the rim and FTs. He likes to settle on jumpers. Hard time finishing with contact and low FTa. Sometimes looks like he is scared to go hard and avoids contact. Good thing is that he improved this last month or two dramasticly (over 10 FTa per game in finals).

4. Contract. He curently has a 2 year deal with Partizan, but we have great financial problems and we could sell him to a richer EL team, where he could sign 2-3 year deal. Ideal solution is to stay one year with us and then come next year to NBA.

Botomline i think he will have a good NBA career, starter on a contender or 6moy (sorry for homerism :) ) If you need any more info feel free to ask.

Sorry for this long post. Will be following you guys and hopefully BB for many years to come, good luck i think you got a good player. (P.S. Bog means God in Serbian = Godnan Godnanovic :D )

Okay, this pick is really starting to grow on me. He has good size, and scoring instincts, and great Euro-trainer fundamentals. Will be interesting to track his progress.

Just like last years draft with Goodwin I think McD is good at getting this late round steals like the pick

A's over Royals. Lester and experience will prove that he's worth the trade.

Tigers winning it all. Tigers are, imo, peaking at the right time.

@BB13

About first weakness - what you wrote in brackets is crucial. Injured Westermann as practically the only PG, then injured Milosavljevic as a team leader and a guy who can also score big digits... Bogdan was forced to create, to make up points and buckets 'cause almost no one other could (beside Kinsey who had big problems with his ankle and back throughout the season).

Maybe it's unconventional to note such a thing as someones advantage, but i must add that Bogdan has ridiculously powerful release which allows him to shoot regular jumpers even 10, 11 meters away from the basket.

I just want to see him in the NBA next season, no point at staying in Europe at age 22, imo he already destroyed the competition here. He can't get any better there, only worse, that's why he needs to come to the US ASAP. Time to take that next step. Hopefully he isn't Nedovic part deux.

I want to see Bogdan in the NBA ASAP too, but at 22YO he can still definitely improve his decision making, understanding of the game and some accountability.

I want him to join suns as close to being "Ready to mingle" with veterans on the court. Plus suns need to create minutes for him... Suns are still developing Goodwin as well as Ennis at the guard the next 1-2 seasons... And Green is still on the team... Not to mention the Dragic/Bledsoe issue.

I'm always a fan of young euro-guys with potential. And if you compare them to American players by numbers, consider that euroleague is a much tougher competition than ncaa.

his decision making is just fine for a young player. ofcourse he is gonna take some ill advised shots if he is a shooter and some ill advised passes. but you cant teach experience.

but you can teach discipline and knowing how to see and play the game in the right way. and this is the friggin partizan. holy mother of playing the right way.

hes gonna be fine.

I just hope we'll give him minutes when he comes over, we're already stacked at both guard positions (assuming Eric returns) Anyway, will he be playing in the summer league? :)
