Re: Sixers, Cavs, Wolves.
Cleveland isn't getting Love without Wiggins...isn't that safe to say at this point? This is how I see this breaking down (as far as the main pieces go....picks or lower level players can be added to any side).
Minnesota Out: Love and K. Martin
Minnesota In: Wiggins, Bennett, T. Young, John Lucas, Malcolm Thomas, Erik Murphy
Last 3 guys are non-guaranteed and will be waived by Minn or us if they go to Philly.
Cleveland Out: Wiggins, Bennett, Waiters, John Lucas, Malcolm Thomas, Erik Murphy
Cleveland In: Love and K. Martin
Philly Out: T. Young
Philly In: Waiters
Cleveland is likely to want Martin back and he's a floor spreading SG that's an upgrade (skill and personality wise over Waiter...better fit for a contending team basically).
Philly swap is just a guy who's likely to leave after this year for a guy who maybe clicks with youth movement here.
Minnesota likely has no interest in keeping Martin in a rebuild and I doubt they want Waiters (Lavine is the future SG there) so that's where Thad enters the picture.
http://basketball.realgm.com/tradechecker/saved_trade/6497123
Edit: I could also see JJ Barea's expiring coming to Philly as part of this deal. T-wolves just singed Mo Williams so Barea not likely in their plans. Also, makes it more likely K. Martin is moved along with Love.

Could see something like:
Cleveland in: Love, GR3
Cleveland out: Bennett, Wiggins, Picks (some kind of 1st(s))
Minnesota in: Thad Young, Wiggins, Bennett
Minnesota out: Love, Barea, Mbah a Moute, GR3
Philly in: Mbah a Moute, Barea, Picks (some kind of 1st(s))
Philly out: Thad Young
Minn needs to cut a roster spot since signing GR3 would give them 16 players. Barea is expiring as is Mbah a Moute but he might be able to mentor Embiid since they know each other.

I basically feel that I am willing to trade Thad for Waiters, Lavine or a mid first rounder in 2015 in that order. However, it strikes me as very unlikely for us to get Waiters or Lavine for Thad if that is all that we are giving up.
We can sweeten our offer by taking on additional salary, but it still seems like very wishful thinking on our part.
If we were to take on a contract like Martin that is for 3 years which is a pretty tough nut to take. I would do Thad for Waiters and Martin though.
I think that Waiters has a very high ceiling, and his diva tendencies may be a bit over blown. I don't think it is easy for him to play with a guy like Irving, and MCW and Waiters may work much better. I see him like a diva wide receiver like Desean Jackson. I would trust Hinkie and Brown that they could handle him, and if it doesn't work then we really didn't lose much since he is still on his rookie deal.
Taking him on is certainly a risk, but it could potentially pay off big time. He could turn into a star and a competitive and high level scorer is something that we don't have on our team.

Would be sweet to get LaVine..but I doubt Flip is that crazy.
There are moments in which I wish I could go full 2k and force trades through lol.

I have no idea what a realistic deal would look like. However, if MIN get's Wiggins and they want to play him at SG next to Rubio (with maybe Shabazz/GR3 ideally showing progress at the SF spot), then maybe we add Wroten and Young and bring back Lavine & Bennett.

^ and on a side note, I think we could take back a big bad expiring, or, the more i think about it, i'm not terribly opposed (like i once was) to taking back KMart. LaVine is a couple years out, and as we look at our line up the big question is always shooting. Well... Kmart provides that in bunches, i would think he would only improve his value on our team.

Sure Flip wants Thad, but he is not going to give us anymore than one of their poor contracts as compensation.

I don't believe you understand how this works.

Some guy in that original ESPN article posted this trade as an idea in the comments. seems pretty psychotic and unrealistic but an interesting take nonetheless.

"Hey Flip, we don't need to trade Thad." - Hinkie
Cleveland and Minnesota are pretty desperate with their respective stances on this trade. Minnesota wants talent in a trade for Love because they know he's not going to re-sign with them. Cleveland wants to win now to ensure that LeBron sticks around for longer than 2 years, and because, dammit, Cleveland wants a championship.
The Sixers have no real incentive to make a trade unless they are getting young talent or a useful pick for Thad.

Re: Sixers, Cavs, Wolves.
The Thad rumor would seem to indicate that Minny doesn't want Bennett, who salary-wise, would fit with Wiggins and the non-guaranteed deals for Love. So there's a possibility we end up with Bennett and Mbah a Moute and someone from the Barea/Martin/Brewer group. Mbah a Moute is expiring and an Embid friend, so we could end up with a prospect, a mentor, and a bad contract or two. And wasn't there word that Hinkie liked Bennett in last year's draft?

Are they confident Thad is going to resign with them or something? This doesn't make any sense from the timberwolves perspective.

A Noel/Bennett front court would certainly be interesting for one year if nothing else.

Wonder if LaVine is in play. Maybe he really was pissed off about going to Minnesota and has let them know that behind the scenes. Plus with Wiggins maybe coming on board, he may not be as necessary. Sign me up for Thad for LaVine, LMAM and Shved.

I have a feeling that if we get in on a three way trade, we are looking at getting a future first from cleveland and some salary dumped our way

Did a Wolves fan say they are semi-rebuilding? Isn't that the same as their version of contending??

A lot of this depends on what is really happening with Love to the Cavs but I just can't imagine us being disappointed with the result of a Hinkie/Saunders negotiation.

As much as I dislike Bennett, I'd rather have him than Waiters. From watching Waiters I get the feeling I know what he is/will be already. Bennett at least has potential. LaVine is not happening. Period.
Anyone think we could get Bennett, plus a protected 1st in a 3-way? Or would it have to be one or the other?

I don't think you'll be able to get a real prospect like Bennett or Waiters. Maybe a 1st? Thad is a free agent un 8 months and the TWolves are going to be awful, I don't see how he could have that much value.
