Can't stop laughing. Gortat was mediocre C way too old and too expensive for Suns FO but Chandler - 33 years old, injury prone without any offensive skills C is the right piece. Man this deal is like a bad joke!

Wow this is dissapointing. I said it'd be nice to get him on something like 2/18... The rising cap is screwing with team's heads.

Sun agree to terms with Tyson Chandler
I don't really like the 4 year deal because he'll be 37 in year 4 of his deal.
I don't know how much of his athleticism he'll still have by then and since his offensive arsenal consists of alley oops and put backs he'll be a real liability even more than he is right now.
On defence he's been a good help defender but here again he's always been a good leaper so how good of a defender will he be as he ages?

It seems kind of long and kind of expensive, but this team lacked maturity, leadership and needed veteran presence. Most of the team now is 25 and younger.

Is it 2008 again? We should have kept Gortat. Arguably a better player, younger and cheaper even on his current deal with Wizards. I don't understand this signing. SMH.

sure I got it, but Chandler for me doesn't look like a right mentor vet - unless He can teach them how to quit like in old NY days.
That deal is awful - 4 years for a 33 years old C with long injuries history. I will eat my tongue but I think He will be done after next season.

Re: Sun agree to terms with Tyson Chandler
If Chandler somehow helps us get Aldridge, this deal is a home run. If not, it's not nearly as bad as some people are saying. It's close, but I think he was signed to bring a veteran presence to the locker room just as much as what he brings on the floor. I try to never judge signings/trades until after I've seen the team play for about a month. I've been surprised before, perhaps this will be the same. Let's see how this all plays out and what else McDonough has up his sleeve before passing judgement.

I think it's expensive and long. As for the injury history, that doesn't bother me quite as much with our training staff who have brought guys like Grant Hill and Shaq back to life.

Do U really see the chance to get LMA? over Spurs? They have best coach, great players possibility to win a chips and earn good money. What Phoenix can offer which Spurs can't?

Re: Sun agree to terms with Tyson Chandler
I dunno...Something tells me there's more to this than meets the eye.
Maybe McD is listening/has been asked about Len's availability?
What if the Magic asked about an S&T involving Harris and Len?
Len is not going to be able to play next to Chandler that's for sure.
I love that we got a proven, champion, veteran leader - but the same position as our young C cornerstone? Something's not adding up right...
I'm wondering if Kings are interested in something like Len + filler for Gay? Then they'll have the money for Rondo and we'll have our scorer to complement Kieff and Chandler?
The Celtics could use a C - for Olynyk or Sullinger perhaps?
I dunno, just seems weird to sign him at this point of our 'rebuild' when Len (you'd hope) was just starting to come into his own.
And no, I don't think this is the push we need to sign LMA - he's going to the Spurs.

I don't know. I certainly didn't. Now I'm not sure. I know he has family in Texas and went to school there, but Phx is a better place to live than SA by a long shot, and would you rather play with Parker, Danny Green and a couple of near 40 year olds?
Or Bledsoe, Knight, Morris, Chandler, Len, etc?
It's kind of like when LeBron chose Cleveland and a younger team over Miami and some aging guys despite them having won championships in the past.

No, we keep Len and when he comes off his rookie contract, we match anything and Chandler has 1-2 years left and he is strictly a backup. They are both injury prone...lets just hope they are injured at different times...but having both gives us insurance in case of injury to either.

Re: Sun agree to terms with Tyson Chandler
Wow Dallas fans here in Germany hoped Dallas won't sign him to a 3 year deal as he started declining and was a non factor in the playoffs. I don't think even your med staff can make him serviceable for whole 4 years. I hope the last year is a team option and you guys only play him around 22-24 mpg so Len still gets the chance to develope.
