I can understand making an argument for Thabo and Millsap being better defenders than DeMarre but including Bazemore is a stretch.

And the Suns were rumored to have heavy interest in Josh Smith. According to past sources at the time, they were offering Gortat, Dudley, and a future (i assume protected) 1st. Gortat would have been our first real center and would have allowed Horford to move to PF.

This is pure insanity. I have followed the Hawks every move for years and this was never mentioned. I would love to see some evidence of this fairy tale.

Be careful what you ask for next time, and here's the fairy tale(s) you ordered.

It should be obvious why Ferry would decline this package. He wanted a clean slate and he wasn't interested in taking on salary in future years. He went for the combo of Paul/Howard and it didn't happen.

Smart move by Ferry. I would much rather have Millsap than Gortat.

B-. There was no reasonable way to retain Carroll. Splitter was a good get. Hardaway is a good player and you know you are getting a scorer. Low-risk win now off season. The issues is losing a 2 way player without replacing that quality.
