He's often struggled against good post defenders with size and athleticism, and he'll face that type almost every night in the NBA, at least as a starter. He's also over-reliant on his left hand hook, not nearly as good turning to his left shoulder.
His rebounding will be okay because he's hard-nosed and has strong hands, but I don't think he'll be an elite rebounder. He'll feast on lesser rebounders but won't make much of a dent against truly good ones who will have a few inches on him.
The critical factor for Sabonis will be his jump-shot and I'm not sure he'll ever develop one beyond his current level of midly efficient when open. His shot is flat and his mechanics rigid and convoluted. Perhaps he never cared much about it because so far his post game has always been so effective for him. But I suspect that without a quality jump-shot, he's a hustle bench big a la Tyler Hansbrough.
Watch his stuff with Unicaja when he was more known as an all around player. He exclusively posts up because that's what Gonzaga's system is tailored to do. He's a humble kid and a hard worker that only does what's asked of him never going beyond his boundaries set by the team. He's a lot more skilled than he's shown thus far.
