He is fat though. It is pretty clear that he doesn't really care about winning at this point, with his injury history, he should be around 10% body fat. It's only a matter of time until he is out with an ankle or groin issue. And nobody get me started on this "he is this type" bs, he doesn't have the discipline to stop eating as much, and regulate his caloric intake, it's this simple.

He was never nimble but very strong for a PG, both him and CP3 have the same body structure but I guess Chris Paul works a little harder to prep himself.
I don't know Deron's life, but a lot of guys who are serious about it will hire a chef. Deron certainly has enough money to do that. CP has a chef so that obviously helps.

Sadly this one isn't premature.

After the first two games, there is a real possibility Orlando does 0-82

Been saying it all summer, but Orlando fans didn't like hearing that. Team is a hodgepodge of talent. Fournier is a good player, but he is not good enough to be asked to be your primary scorer. It throws his whole game off.

Brandon Ingram is injury prone and too skinny to make it in the NBA.

Dougie McBuckets gets promoted to Assistant Alpha before All Star break, turning the Bulls into a team led by 3.5 Alphas.

Fred Hoiberg asks if he can become an honorary Alpha but Alpha-in-Chief Jimmy Butler tells him no, and doesn't even try to do it gently.

Agreed, IIRC he showed he could do that when in Utah early on. Nothing about declining athleticism with age means you can't manage your calories. I'm always stunned by significantly overweight NBA players.

He's already showed star power, I'd say the premature reaction would be he's the next Kevin Durant.

I actually think they'll start tilting to the drastically bad side some time during the season. Dirk is awesome, but you can't play credible defense as a team when he's out there nowadays. And they don't really have much more than him offensively. As soon as they see they are going nowhere and have a couple inevitable injuries they'll start to not try to win as hard as they are now and join the tanking race imo.

The Nets are awesome to watch, top 5 league pass team for me so far. They play really hard, are solid defensively, run in transition, whip the ball around like crazy and shoot 3s like there's no tomorrow. I don't see them winning under 30 games unless they have injury trouble.

The Kings are solid and will be close to the playoff spots most of the season. Specially if the Grizzlies and Blazers are not as good as we thought they would, which I think is possible if you overreact to the first couple games (which is what this thread is all about right?)

The Hawks are really solid too and might be fighting for the 2nd seed withe the Raptors and the Celtics. Horford is an awesome offensive fit for them by the way, better than I thought he would.

I heard that he is leaving basketball entirely. He's going to play minor-league baseball.

It has nothing to do with gambling.

To those of you, who are itching to make proclamations about the new season based on 2-3 games, here are some of the threads made on this forum about one year ago from today.

1. Wall Leads NBA with 5 Blocks
2. Are we seeing a new Kendrick Perkins?
3. Jahlil Okafor with the Most Points in a Debut By A Center Since
4. Are the Knicks a top 4 team in the East right now?
5. Is Justise Winslow a Top 10 Defender right now?

As a Kings' fan, I'm glad, that West is wide open this year outside of Spurs, Warriors, Clippers and Blazers: Nuggets and Wolves are full of kids, Utah can't score, Rockets can't defend, Grizzlies and Mavs are old, OKC has no depth and Pels only have AD at the moment.

+6 against Sixers in Philadelphia, home OT win over Suns and beat down of Lakers' kids, with Westbrook playing at MVP level, told you that?

Should be lots of fun.

I thought 40 wins would get you the 8th this year.

I hope it stays close for everyone too for some excitement. The West has been extremely predictable for too long now. Finally it looks like there's a lot up for grabs.

Spurs will finish with the best record in the west. I guess it's not too far fetched, they could be like the 2011 Bulls to the Heatles. GSW's offense has looked pretty good but they need to figure out how to play defense. Can't give up 100 to the Suns.

Ok I'll bite, here is my premature reaction:

Warriors are looking bad. Like 2012 Super Lakers bad.

No rim protection at all. It's like a layup line for opponents every night
No rebounding. I don't think I've seen one offensive board in the first 3 games from Zaza or West
Offense looks out of rhythm, lots of turnovers
Fit issues with a starting unit
Bench looks really bad every night
Durant and Curry are scoring like mad yet Dubs are barely hanging in with lotto teams
Durant seems to get more and more mad every game
Klay is playing lazy as hell

I expect them to get a lot better of course but there are some huge holes (defense and rebounding) that I doubt they will be able to fill unless they pull a few amazing trades/signings
