Re: 2017 Draft Thread
I'm looking for length, bulk and defense. Those are some of my main priorities going forward as we add to this team through the draft.

If you are gonna get a fring lotto pick, between 8th and 12th let's say, I'd make an effort to draft Miles Bridges, he would fit so well as a smallball PF with this team.

I'm growing tired of these rookies. They are all losers for at least 3 years. Tough to get excited about a dude who won't make a real difference for so long.

Well I could see Thibs trying to package that pick to try to make a big play, unless he really likes someone in the draft. To me this pick is either traded or developed very slowly. The lotto in this draft looks very good.

Re: 2017 Draft Thread
I had a feeling a month or so ago that Markkanen would be a favorite on this board. He has a lot of potential.
The entire lotto looks very good to me. Last time I felt this was about the draft was the Towns draft.

Re: 2017 Draft Thread
All depends on what position Tibbs feels like Towns is. If he wants to make him a 4 I think Bolden fits extremely well next to him. If he wants Towns as the 5, there are a good amount of guys that can be a good 4 next to him. One thing I would look at is if you guys continue to struggle and has a chance to get one of these stud PGs. I think trading Dunn or Rubio for another pick in this draft would be a great move. I think Dunn has the potential to be a very solid PG, but there are a few PGs in this draft that has a chance to be flat out studs. Plus getting another 1st round pick in this draft would be a great move in this deep draft.

If we get the a top 10 pick (5-10) and Paul George somehow became available I would offer it along with LaVine and Dunn to Indy. That's a good respectful offer.

He is the only player in this draft I wouldn't consider trading unless it was for MVP candidate.

It's ok to be a homer.

Re: 2017 Draft Thread
Well if there was a draft to have a good pick for, this would be it. I am as sick of looking to the draft for help as almost anyone, but this draft is significantly stronger than last years draft, and could be as good as the 2015 draft or even better. I would say this draft is stronger than the 2016 draft even without considering lotto prospects like Giles, Tatum, and Bolden(all from Duke) haven't played a real game yet.
Guards: Fultz, Smith Jr., Ball, Fox, Monk, Ntilikina(haven't watched)
Wings: Jackson, Tatum(sprained foot), Isaac, OG, Bridges
Bigs: Giles(recovering from arthroscopy), Markkanen, Rabb, Bam, Bolden(lower leg injury)
That is just a stacked amount of talent in the lottery.

1) Draft a combo forward for sixth man role
2) Draft a strong frontcourt player that can help Towns
3) Trade the pick

We better be getting a very very... very good player if you are willing to trade this pick.

Lonzo Ball vs. Fox, Monk, and Bam coming up in a few minutes. Big scouting game.

I'm all in on the "Bam-wagon". He is exactly what this team needs. An athletic freak that can rebound, defend, and finish strong. I think he is quick enough to handle some guards on switches too, despite weighing 255 pounds. Also looks like a strong outlet passer and has potential mid-range game as well.

I've like what I have seen from him as well. He definitely isn't incapable of improving as a FT and mid range shooter. Not all "all in" though, I need to see Giles and how/if he comes back from injury. If I'm going big and he can come back and he can stay healthy, he would be rally tough for me to pass up.

Giles is a stud, no doubt. I just worry about his acl tears in both knees during high school - one of the instances also involved torn mcl and meniscus. Even if he is able to come back and play meaningful minutes this season, that doesn't guaranty a healthy career. In the end though, I will be happy with Bam, Giles, or Markkanen. Not a bad year to have a top 10 pick.
Return to Minnesota Timberwolves
