Name that allstar caliber point guard that will be available?

Chris Paul is a free agent at seasons end and is even more injury prone. Stephan Curry isn't leaving Golden State, Lowry isn't leaving Toronto. The best free agent point guard is Shawn Livingston and he's no allstar.

Edit: And Holiday...also no allstar

how? the trade did not clear cap space for chicago. the salaries nearly matched.

signing noah and lee precluded the knicks having any available money for wade. and i don't know why if he left miami it wouldn't have been for chicago anyway.

lee was smart money. but getting noah was a major tipping point in landing lee. it was noah's phone call that sold lee. we might have been hard pressed to get him at all, let alone at the price we did, if noah wasn't working the phones.

but, in the no rose dream scenario, d-wade joins the knicks to create a starting five of:

calderon
wade
melo
KP
lopez

?

They matched up but remember Chicago could only sign Wade because they traded Jose with 2 2nds to the Lakers. Noah was only signed because we didn't have a C in this situation we couldn't have signed Lee but Wade would've been open to come here. Remember there were reports that he was thinking of NY when signing.

That dream scenario is what I had in mind though. Maybe even starting Ennings. We wouldn't have Holiday and Lee but I remember when reports first started coming out about Wade not signing in Miami they said his top choices were NY, Denver, and Chicago. If we had RoLo already it could've been an easy signing.

The target should be CP3 obviously. I'm hoping the spurs knock them out in the second round because that will be 6 years in a row of the Paul-Griffin combo not getting it done. There are also trades we can do. I'm not opposed to giving up draft picks if the player we are getting back is an all-star.

I pointed out yesterday that eric bledsoe has a slash line of 19.2ppg/5.9rbs/5.4ast and he can shoot the 3 ball, get to the free throw line and play defense. Also he knows hornaceks system. He would probably come alot cheaper than other guys given his injury history.

3 years 45 million or GTFO. There are better options to max out this offseason.

I think we would be better off with David Lee then Noah.

i don't care, he is worth the risk. He's a top 5 player period. besides he is way healthier than D Rose.

Marc Berman and "NBA Source"

Well I'm convinced. This seems very reputable.

I didn't see this thread. Just going to paste my post from other thread.

Extension is probably the smartest way to go if you think about it. It's inevitable the knicks sign him. You got a cap increase. You got two top level free agent points that will sign huge contracts to stay. Setting the bar for rose, who will be marketed and viewed as the next best available guy. So his people will be seeking a contact that is competitive with where the bar is set. And you might also find yourself in a bidding war with a desperate team looking to make a big splash. Especially if rose finds a way to pick up his game between now and then. So avoid that if you can. While negotiating based on present performance and cap numbers. It's also the best chance we have to sell him on signing a contract that leaves the knicks some amount of flexibility.

Again I'm not a fan of rose long term but I know the reality of the situation and it's going to happen. Negotiating an extension is probably the best way to go about it.
