I'm one of those who is pretty convinced Okafor was an ownership influenced pick, so they still can't move a #3 pick for a guy like Ross without being able to seek the additions upside peice that one of those three minimal assets would bring.
Really, what is the benefit to Ross's money when we could keep Henderson around cheaper while TLC grows into the job? Or maybe that other foreign dude we drafted last year is ready to go?
Our fans are pretty low on Okafor, but I think this is selling pretty low :/ would rather wait till draft day to see if he can be moved then .
Good to hear your perspective. The argument for trading Okafor now though, imo, is there isn't the rotational opportunity to bump that stock up - Embiid, Noel and even Holmes are all ahead of him at C (and justifiably so). If you sell now, you can at least get value based on his youth and draft position. If you wait longer given the current situation, he might drift further in to bust territory in other teams eyes.
That is definitely a possibility, but I disagree. Okafor seems like he is using this time to push himself and train. He looks thinner, and he his jumper looks like it is improving. He is also playing the role of a great teammate. It would surprise me if leading up to the draft a lot of weight room/ gym work video of him is floating about to try to show his improved game.
But I've been wrong plenty before
