also there's a bundle of things that are way more important to this team than upgrading at SF

SF has been a top priority for years. Nothing came close to this getting a legit backup C and playmaker bench PG were bonus.

it's definitely been a top priority but again, any number of things would have helped this team be better than it is now than getting a guy better than mbah a moute. basically i'm saying is even if you replaced him with someone better, things like asset management, asset acquisition, drafting, retaining crawford, playing him and pierce heavy minutes, being unable to functionally manage our 3 stars in staggers, being unable to create an even mediocre backup unit offense, etc. etc. are all way more important and all contributing to the tripe you see on the court, as opposed to getting a new SF.

and as if he's conveniently trying to remind me, the insistence on small ball units "just cause"

anyway i don't have a problem discussing these things but game thread prob not best place for it so i'll save it for next time

i'd love to know why bass only just now is getting minutes but that seems like an exercise in wasted energy

speights has been awful on defense and not giving anything on offense. i think bass needs to get the PF minutes here and just give speights his 2nd unit minutes back.

Doc wanted to try the better spacing with Speights, but he hasn't come through as well as we would like

i mean i wasn't even mad knowing speights would start in blake's place. but he is just not good tonight and i don't think he seems very comfortable.

I didn't like how we ended the half here. We had a couple of turn overs and Utah was able to hit a couple of 3s. We're down 3 at the half, this game is definitely at the Jazz pace.

Defense wins championships, but his low-scoring affair has been more about missed offensive opportunities than stalwart defensive execution. Unless Chris Paul goes off again in the 4th quarter, this game and series is over.

This team man is brutal

If you sign players who take bad shots, they will take bad shots, that's the reality. Especially when times get tough, their tendencies will come out, so I don't know what Doc has expected with the guys he has kept / acquired / signed. Jamal Crawford takes bad shots. You said you never criticize any shots he takes, so how can you even complain that "we're taking bad shots"?
