Dwight Powell and a 2021 Mavs second round pick (we owe 2019's pick to 76ers in Noel's trade) or 2019 Golden States second round pick (from Bogut trade) for Spencer Hawes. He may get a steal here if you can train him up into shooting categories. He's on and off at times. He can hit everything in a game but miss everything in another game. He's very quick with his feet. He's an easily lob-target. However, he's still skinny with his frame. He's average rebounding wise. He's active with his hand on defense but he's not a good shot-blocker. His pick-n-roll defense is problematic. He tends to switch to smaller guy for a block shots. He does challenge shots but he loses rebuilding positions for easy dunk from time to time. He's pretty strong work ethics and he's only 25 years' old. I think you're somewhat interested with a second round pick attached.

It's going to take more than a distant or very late 2nd to move Powell.

Better to eat them up, than trade them for equally bad long term deals plus picks.. it's not like the Bucks are rebuilding or something

Exactly, turn them into cap space.

That's exactly what I was thinking

No question about it. The only saving grace for Dallas is that we aren't planning to be free agent players this summer so by next summer he will only have 2 years left. Would still cost a first to move him then imo, but depending on how our young players develop or don't this year, next summer could easily be another year Dallas sits out free agency.

So horrible contract in which we bid against ourselves for reasons I'll never understand, but at least we're in a place where we really don't need another $10M in cap space.

Please take Drummond, if not him maybe Reggie Jackson, Stanley Johnson, Henry Ellenson and Boban?
