Spurs got all of the flop calls. Not to mention Ginobili locking Adams arm and getting the call. Pop calls the refs blind and doesnt get T'd up. They didnt even blow the whistle when Abrines fouled Ginobili with 4 seconds left. I'm pissed at our team, but the NBA is the worst reffed sport there is. They have it out for us this year.

Why was Abrines doing the inbound in the last play? I don't get it.

You can tell OKC was a way more talented team though, they just need to figure out a way to play winning basketball for 48 minutes a game. Talent wise, they really are capable of becoming contenders. It took the Miami Heat a while to figure it out too.
Our top three players are all boneheads. The coach is a bonehead. I don't know if they can hit their potential with those mitigating factors. We shall see.
Well, at some point they will have to ask themselves what they are doing here, and what they want to achieve.
I think that happened after they lost to the mighty Kings.

We need more than a 30 minutes locker room talk.

We can easily lose the next 3 games (@Pelicans, GSW, @Pistons). Only good thing that can happen would be to fire Donovan but Presti is so stupid regarding coaching staff

Firing 2 coaches in 3 years isn't a good look. I've seen the light, Russ is the common denominator here.

Firing 2 coaches in 9 years isn't that bad if Russ is guilty

We need a shake up before this season is completely lost. You cant tell me Donovan is running an actual offense and Russ is just doing whatever he wants. Donovan is encouraging this iso crap. Pretty sure he just leaves it up to the players.

If they don't want to fire Donovan I'm still fine with hiring a good offensive assistant. Donovan is doing ''ok'' on defense but offense needs to evolve.

It sort of makes sense to have a shooter inbound because you can pass it back to him right after the pass.

Except for the fact that we don’t really pass to Abrines. What do you think Abrines would like if he played for the spurs? A lot better.

Re: 11/17 - POSTGAME | Oklahoma City Thunder (101) - (104) San Antonio Spurs
Honestly felt like the refs screwed us over after the first quarter. After Manu flopped on PG & PG got a tech for bouncing the ball too hard, we couldn't get any calls. Ended up with a lot of drives from Russ where he falls & gets no call & is slow to get back so we're scrabbling & they get a good shot, eventually they got their momentum. Still shouldn't have lost, but that just felt like the refs taking over.

We've seen countless players leave and suddenly they change. The common denominator is 2 coaches with no system. I'm not saying Russ is blameless, he sucked, but as soon as players leave they magically become more willing passers. That's not Russ.

The common denominator of what? Deep playoff runs?
“If you're getting stops and you're making threes and the other team's not scoring, that's when you're going to see a huge point difference there,” coach Billy Donovan said.

He doesn't like Russ (and no that's not because I like Russ, the guy actually doesn't like Russ). He was trash again, but that's not the "common denominator".
It blows my mind you can add George and Melo and the offense is worse. I was really mad but suddenly don't really give a **** about this team right now. They're going to get murdered on Wed. and probably by NOLA unless Davis is out again. They just aren't good.

Well, yeah, I mean in practice Russ thinks those shots are for him, Melo, PG13. But still as a safety valve it makes sense. Still, might have been a good time to dust off Nick Collison.
Yeah, fair question, Abrines would probably be pretty damn good in the Spurs system.
Return to Oklahoma City Thunder
