Spurs Interested In Pursuing Kristaps Porzingis In Free Agency

Only player Knicks would Trade Kristaps for is Lauri Markanen. Outside of that i can't see the Knicks allowing Kristaps to leave. Then again we are talking about the Knicks...

Bulls Fan? Lauri is nice but we prefer KP hands Down.

I'm a Knicks fan which means i hate the Bulls with a passion but Markanen will be a hair less of a player than Porzingis and has a way better chance to stay healthy/durable in the long run. I love me some Kristaps but i wonder if a person at that size, being that athletic can stay healthy long term. I just want some sustained success finally and I think Markanen has a better shot at staying healthy while being an all star level player. I doubt the Bulls would do the trade anyhow.

Didn't they say the same thing about Anthony Davis? My theory is that 7 foots that like to play like swings take a few extra years until their body is mature enough to handle an NB season.

Ummmm...Porzingis will be completing his third season in Summer 2019. He is not a restricted FA. He will not be a restricted FA until Summer 2020. Assuming that he doesn't blow out his knee again when he comes back, Knicks would surely match any restricted FA offer sheet.

In other news, many RealGM posters have an interest in dating a supermodel - and as much chance of doing that as the Spurs acquiring Porzingis as a restricted FA.

Might want to check a Porzingis page somewhere. His 4th year is up in the summer. I think the Knicks will pony up, but it is time for him to get paid. It will be interesting to see if he settles with Embiid type injury protections or goes and gets something for the Knicks to match if they try to pull that. Embiid was signing an extension, so it wasn't really the same situation.

LOL. The media is really at an all time low as far as real journalism goes. Every team with space is interested in KP. He's a top 3 rim protector, 7' 3" elite shooter, who hasn't ever even played for an NBA level coach or played with even a G-League point guard. As much as I love the Knicks I'd actually love to see him play for a top 3 coach with a real back court if the Knicks are just going to torpedo this roster signing **** Jimmy Butler or some other tampon.

There are so many sites and blogs that sometimes things get taken from one little sentence and then get blasted all over the web like a feature report. Read the original piece and it's in their, but isn't really significant in anyway.

This must be some Jedi Mind trick, even if KP doesn’t play a minute in the 2018-19 season he’ll be a RFA in the summer of 2019. He was drafted in 2015 with KAT, Booker, And Myles. Players who’ve signed their respective extensions, so KP, Dlo, Mudiay, and Rozier will all be RFA at the same time.
